Re: [ubuntu-art] [Breathe] SuperEarlyShouldn'tBeDoingThisIt'sTooSoonRelease
I have just used the early Breathe release and I must say that after reading so much about it on the mailing list, I am glad to test it out finally. Although it is by no means complete (and it's not intended to be at the moment), I find that it is a great, modern icon set that truly matches Ubuntu and gives the default Icon set a much needed bump in the behind. I am using it right now with New Wave 0.7.3+Gnome-DO 0.8 and Jaunty, and the desktop couldn't look more modern or human. Only thing that bothers me for now at the moment with Breathe icon set is that the default icon for folders seem to have a dark outline that is too dim, seems like a dark halo around the whole folder. Here is a picture of my desktop: http://img228.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot1ph7.png Keep up the good work. -- Manuel Mas -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

OK, Sebastian did you update the icon set to fix the Trash icon not showing on Gnome-Do? I just read you noticed that and thought you had but I downloaded the package and it is still the same. Also, I have been raising awareness on the Jaunty developer forums (since those are probably the most active testers and enthusiasts available) and am getting opinions on both New Wave and Breathe. Here is the thread if you are interested on opinions: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1063806 -- Manuel Mas -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
Re: [ubuntu-art] Artwork Deadline One
I think the idea here is really cool. and I like the majority of the art there. but the jackalope itself, being so subtle, looked to me like a skull or an alien head at first, which I don't think is the idea you're going for. maybe make the view of the jackelope angled a bit more (rather than straight on), or use lighter colors for the jackalope itself, perhaps. still, a cool idea. jake On Sun, Feb 8, 2009 at 11:24 AM, John Baer bae...@gmail.com wrote: I am not sure the desire, but 2.19.2009 is the deadline one for artwork. IMO we should have our submissions to the point they are submitted to the wiki for comments. To satisfy that desire I submitted a customizable Jaunty background to the wiki today. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Jaunty/Impression/Background Customizable means the canvas is transparent so the desired background color will need to be defined in Appearance Preferences Gnome dialogue. I suggest theme engines be locked down on 2/19 in order to provide adequate time for packaging and testing. The last svn check-in for the Murrine engine is version 137 but the latest package is 136. https://launchpad.net/~suraia/+archive/ppahttps://launchpad.net/%7Esuraia/+archive/ppa I am satisfied with Murrine either way.
