Re: [ubuntu-art] Regarding my icons and igorance
Ufuk, I think i actually answered you about the mushroom ;) I'm not involved neither in Ubuntu Studio nor in Breathe though, and I don't know much about icons, so I can't say much more than that. And by the way, check the number of Breathe icons I commented on the last month ;) Cordially, SD. -- Steve Dodier OpenPGP : 0E5E4ECB IRC : SiDi on irc.freenode.net Jabber : s...@im.apinc.org steve.dod...@gmail.com https://launchpad.net/~sidi -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
Re: [ubuntu-art] Reply to Cory
Hey Baldur, Don't hesitate in making an icon or two to show Cory how you rock, it's the best way to find your place ;) You can check on the Submissions page which icon are not done, some of them are to be done for a while now so there is little chance someone does the same as you at the same time. Re: [ubuntu-art] Getting involved
Just start working on something noone else is working on. Be receptive to critique, and give critique. Thanks for the pointers Saleel, this is starting to make more sense to me now, how do I know what no-one is working on? What about something like emotes? They sound easy and a good way to start, is anyone working on them? I don't mind critique at all Do try to keep a dev art page/ blog/ launchpad page. I don't really like deviant art but I do have a Launchpad account. Dont get the digest. Its good if you just plan to read, but harder if you plan to contribute. Ok, I signed up to get individual posts (Steve Dodier helped explain it to me). I just hope it doesn't spam my e-mail account too much. Is there some way btw to see how (let's just pick an icon at random) edit-copy looks in other sets like Tangerine or Human? Re: [ubuntu-art] [Breathe] New submissions (May 6th 2009)
I'm with Cory. I think it looks similar to the current one. I personally like the one shipped with the Mac OS X version of Transmission (you can see on the home page http://www.transmissionbt.com/ ). I don't why they use a different one for the Linux version. Maybe we could ask them if we can include it in the set. I don't understand nothing. :-) The link shows a icon with a perspective we normaly don't use. Daniel made a icon with the same aspect, but in the front-view. (It haves the same characteristics like the icon in your link.) And it doesn't look as a port form oxygen. It's looking similar, but it's different. In my opinion I am totally agree with Daniels icon here. ;-) Oliver -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

I have uploaded a revisited version of the folder to make it look sharper and fix the shadows because they cannot be spread that far away from the folder object. P.S. Well for glow I imagine it being more like a white shadow, surrounding the moon, ala (allow me to insert my previous artwork here): http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/KDE+moon+(KDE+SVG)?content=19303 ignore the third image, that was done a long time ago :P So you have a really luminous looking moon. -Chris On Wed, May 6, 2009 at 8:25 PM, Saleel svela...@gmail.com wrote: spg76 wrote: It looks great.
