I suspect this is a name you got from KDE? If so, we *really* have to be
careful about this. They have some names outside of the spec and we have
to be careful how we use them.

Ufuk,

I think i actually answered you about the mushroom ;) I'm not involved
neither in Ubuntu Studio nor in Breathe though, and I don't know much about
icons, so I can't say much more than that. And by the way, check the number
of Breathe icons I commented on the last month ;)

Hey Baldur,

Don't hesitate in making an icon or two to show Cory how you rock, it's the
best way to find your place ;) You can check on the Submissions page which
icon are not done, some of them are to be done for a while now so there is
little chance someone does the same as you at the same time.

receptive to critique, and give critique.

Thanks for the pointers Saleel,
this is starting to make more sense to me now, how do I know what no-one
is working on? What about something like emotes? They sound easy and a
good way to start, is anyone working on them?

I don't mind critique at all

Do try to keep a dev art page/ blog/ launchpad page.

I don't really like deviant art but I do have a Launchpad account.

Dont get the digest. Its good if you just plan to read, but
harder if you plan to contribute.

Ok, I signed up to get individual posts (Steve Dodier helped explain it
to me). I just hope it doesn't spam my e-mail account too much.

Is there some way btw to see how (let's just pick an icon at random)
edit-copy looks in other sets like Tangerine or Human? Just for
reference

Yes.

To make it easy to see and compare them all. It's no good to have them
on pages mixed in with everything else.

If the page should grow too long, it can still be divided by technique,
style or topic.

Probably if you want to contribute to Breathe, you may want to look at
how the Oxygen team has done it. To see oxygen as well as the others,
jimmac has a pretty awesome site:

2009-05-07 Thread Oliver Scholtz 1

I'm with Cory. I think it looks similar to the current one. I
personally like the one shipped with the Mac OS X version of
Transmission (you can see on the home page
 http://www.transmissionbt.com/ ). I don't why they use a different one
for the Linux version. Maybe we could ask them if we can include it in
 the set.

I don't understand nothing. :-)

The link shows a icon with a perspective we normaly don't use. Daniel
made a icon with the same aspect, but in the front-view. (It haves the
same characteristics like the icon in your link.) And it doesn't look as
a port form oxygen. It's looking similar, but it's different.
In my opinion I am totally agree with Daniels icon here. ;-)

I have uploaded a revisited version of the folder to make it look
sharper and fix the shadows because they cannot be spread that far away
from the folder object.

P.S. I have noted that the scalable version may not work in Nautilus so
I you are interested I would ask for help on that topic.\

I noticed and I have a problem with Inkscape. Sometimes blured obejects
appears in Nautilus and in life use and sometimes some blured objects
not. I think it's happens if you have a object transparent and blured. I

I envision the release manager doing:

* Release notes/announcements.
* Preparing the packages. .tar or .deb. (whatever needed)
* Uploading to various sites and being the teams point-of-contact there.

Anyone new up for that?

Well for glow I imagine it being more like a white shadow, surrounding
the moon, ala (allow me to insert my previous artwork here):

ignore the third image, that was done a long time ago :P

So you have a really luminous looking moon.

In that case, consider it dropped. The glow idea looks good but not for a
realistic moon, maybe for something more abstract like this.
