[ubuntu-art] Alternate GDM

2009-06-16 Thread Bryan Basil

Hey everyone.

I think that most people prefer GDM login screens with user lists to
those without them. Keep in mind that this was created for a theme
that at best could be included in a release as a community theme, and
can be changed with suggestions.

My website host's server is down ATM, but I have posted my GDM in this
thread on the
Ubuntu forums, on page 8.

Obviously the user list's container would need to be changed if I had
any hope of this being included, but like I said, keep an open mind.
We're all artists, and can change things around easily.

i didnt like the tears too... *tears are not need for the sad* .
in the 22,16px sad, the mouth is not clear try using black , or if it is
already black, make it a bit thicker

the shine also doesnt seem right... maybe just a lighter shade of red
would do the shine better.

And as thorwil has said the red seems a bit dull... Try Using the color
gradient from the emblem-unreadable... if that does not fit , try
something that makes it bright.

I'v not gotten to do that yet, but if you have time feel free to edit
and add your version to the wiki...

But first, I think if you have time try completing the others , and then
editing these would be wise...

Cheers,

Both devils look flat compared to the other smilies. Please apply a
similar gradient. A slight shift to orange might be OK.

How about a black tear? :)

The patch got into glib 2.21.2 so since now we officially need those icons

I uploaded a second version of the devil-grin,
and a first version of devil-sad.
But I'm not really happy with it, feels like something is missing.
Is these tear to much?

I really like your face-surprise, maybe you could add some browns or corners of
the mouth
to get some more details to the others as well?

I'm still wowed but the sheer flood of volunteers!

With the exception of Kenneth, who did offer his help, thanks! :)

Luckily I finally had the insight to disable loading of images. This way
I managed to complete the whole task in what could be called reasonable
time without triggering that surge protection (a feature originally
conceived in hell, I believe).

Looks like I got all the deletions right, but please notify me if you
stumble over something gone missing ;)

Re: [ubuntu-art] [Breathe] Transmission v2

2009-06-16 Thread Steve Dodier
I'm personally in favor of app icons only if there is a single app to do the
job. We can't guess the user will use Transmission and lose time on the icon
(or even worse, design the torrent mime icon with transmission's icon),
because we will get a complete set much later by doing so.

PS : reztorrent rocks !
PS2 : it actually doesn't... yet

I'm not particularly into accepting something that is some slight edit
on this one. I would consider a new design altogether.

That doesn't mean it should go in. Like I said, let's stay away from app
icons and focus on the system.

If I knew, I would say. I can't quite figure it out.
