[ubuntu-art] Hello
Hello, My name is Jeff. I am joining the Art Team as well as another to work on my art and programming skills. I am currently in the process of installing Ubuntu 9.10 and will hopefully be helping all of you with the art and development of 9.10 for it's full release. I have been using Ubuntu for about four years now, so I am familiar with the interface and feel of the system. I am not a professional at graphic design or programming but I hope everyone here will help me if I have any questions. I saw that you were going for a Mac look in the new theme. I own a Mac, so I may be able to help with the theme and icons. Thank you, Jeff -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

Shine works well now... but i have a few thoughts... could you ping me in the irc? I like the glasses, but i feel the mouth could be brown as the rest of the smileys. [if not the whole mouth , atleast the stroke color could be the same as the rest.] cheers, mac_v -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

I also added a face-glasses icon. michote -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
Re: [ubuntu-art] [Breathe] Transmission v2

Someone did design the 512px icon which is used when they compile for Mac. I'm just pointing out that as it stands now this svg icon is plagiarism and cannot be legally included into the breath icon set. > In any case, we must investigate > Yeap ;-) > Daniel.P > > -- With best regards Dmitrijs Ledkovs (for short Dima), Ледков Дмитрий Юрьевич -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

And by puting it under the transmission icon name it will only be used for the transmission application (not any other torrent application and not for mime/torrent) As for icon itself you need to contact upstream or who-ever design the icon for Mac. Although you have recreated the icon from scratch it is still derived work and if it goes into the icon theme it needs to be license under compatible license. Currently Breathe is under CC-BY-SA-3 while Majoirity of Transmission is MIT, portions are under GPL and LGPL. The later two are not compatible with CC-BY-SA-3 I love the icon but welcome to the license profiliation world ;-) Best option IMHO is to try to submit this icon upstream. Or ask them if they have SVG already / or ask permission to license your icon under CC-BY-SA-3. > PS : reztorrent rocks ! > PS2 : it actually doesn't... yet PS3: LOL > Cordially, SD. > -- > Steve Dodier > OpenPGP : 1B6B1670 > IRC : SiDi on irc.freenode.net > Jabber : s...@im.apinc.org > steve.dod...@gmail.com > https://launchpad.net/~sidi > > -- > ubuntu-art mailing list > ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com > https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art > > -- With best regards Dmitrijs Ledkovs (for short Dima), Ледков Дмитрий Юрьевич -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
