Re: [ubuntu-art] Ubuntu Forums need design assistance

What do people think (www.mikesplanet.net/forums) I really like it, it's nice and bright and seems balanced. My only critique is that the icons are repetitive, even one more design would be handy. There are some nice pictograms here I found: http://spreadubuntu.org/en/material/site-button/ubuntu-pictograms-i-events Note: I filed a bug so we could do a search for spreadubuntu items with svg sources to make it easier to find good source material. Just put svg into the source extension box (not ideal) and limit the results to all those with svg sources. [ubuntu-art] [request] packages.ubuntu.com needs rebranding
Web interface to Ubuntu repositories, http://packages.ubuntu.com/, needs rebranding to conform the new Ubuntu branding. Frank Lichtenheld fr...@lichtenheld.de maintains this website. Information about upstream developers can be found at at http://packages.ubuntu.com/about/. I guess this should be added to our tasks list. I'd be glad to help with this as soon as I get some free time (which is not likely to happen soon, I'm afraid). [ubuntu-art] Edubuntu Wallpaper
Jonathan, Thank you for posting this request to the project board. I took the liberty of creating an https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Specs/Request-6 updated spec but I have a few questions. :-) * Target Audience Is the target audience young school age children or the class room? * The successful design will be accepted in the Scalable Vector Graphics ( svg ) format. There may be folks who prefer to use GIMP is svg really desired? * The desktop will be Gnome What is this correct? * Due 01/17/2011 Generally artwork arrives later in the release cycle, somewhere between user interface freeze and beta. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyReleaseSchedule * Pallet I made a guess at the pallet. The GTK theme appears to be Radiance. Is this correct? The inspirational image IMO has the right mix of colors but if this is not good we can certainly find a better image. :-) * Logo Does someone have a svg of the new logo? * Repository I went ahead and created a flickr group to show case submissions. Artist will upload submissions to their photo stream and then post it to the group. If you will create a flickr account I will set you up as an admin to this group. http://www.flickr.com/groups/uawt-6/ Best regards, John -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Edubuntu-Wallpaper-tp30268164p30268164.html Sent from the ubuntu-art mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

They suggest that we can use colours from images of narwhals, then there is a small pallet of three colours, I made a pallet from the inspirational image using http://www.degraeve.com/color-palette/ and then another pallet that is called the Edubuntu pallet. That makes a very wide range of options. Also, could someone offer an example of what they are meaning with this statement The desired result will be an image which embraces the light Ubuntu design concept? What exactly is this design concept? Thanks. Hrafn -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
