I think something similar was done for Dapper's pre-release splash screen. Even though it had "This is not the final artwork" written on it, many testers got upset. Re: [ubuntu-art] getting face-browser visually inline with artwork-plans for feisty
Hi! Having any browser at all lowers the security a little, because it gives away user names or at least tells you how many users are on the system. That said, I'd love to use a browser like this on my system! So, you're suggesting that the browser should remain, but not be interactive (purely aesthetic)? So the user still needs to type in their username. Sounds good to me, although whatever replaces the browser will need to look different enough that the user doesn't think it's still interactive. Re: [ubuntu-art] Logout sound
Hi guys, Thanks for explaining why the sound has been shortened. I'm starting to warm to the new sound, although it still makes me feel rushed. I think that's an important point: the old sound used to leave me feeling satisfied. I personally don't mind if my system takes a few seconds to shut down if it feels more polished by doing so. If everything else was allowed to continue shutting down in the background, there'd be no time wasted on slower machines, and faster machines would power off as soon as the sound finishes. [ubuntu-art] Logout sound
Hi! I've enjoyed seeing the sound theme evolve for Edgy. I really like the current login sound, but I think the current logout sound is too short. I liked the previous one because it was slow, and sounded like the computer was going to sleep. Please let me know if this is the wrong list for comments on the desktop sound theme :) Cheers, Alex -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
