Re: [ubuntu-art] Unoffical Ubuntu Artwork Site (Again...)
Hi Thomas, I don't know what happened to the forum admin, but Matt's alternative seems the best way to go. He even registered the domain! We didn't have any spam there yet. But if we do, we are keeping a closer watch so it can be stopped before it becomes a problem. Hope to see you there. Greetings. Gabriel. Re: [ubuntu-art] ubuntu-art Site
I'm in Argentina (UTC -3). Now, considering that IRC and Forum had almost the same support, why not using both? After all, they can be complementary. For example, now we need to set up a meeting on IRC... but we're doing it on the official mailing list, and the idea was not to bloat this list with unofficial stuff, right? So, why don't we all sign up at the forum, where we can have a time-zone-independent place and use it as a complement to IRC. For example, to set up the next meeting? Re: [ubuntu-art] ubuntu-art Site
Having 4 websites already shows potential behind this idea. But we are failing at the basics. 1. We need to make a list of the people interested in the project. Otherwise, we have four individual projects and not a team. 2. We have to agree on a communication channel, so far this list is the only one working. 3. Discuss the general goals of the project. 4. Get started with a website, hosting, domain, coding, etc... So, for us to get moving, I suggest that those interested in joining the project vote one of the available communication channels. This way, we tackle points 1 2 at once. The alternatives we have so far are: A. http://sth-group.pl/ubuntu-artwork/ : this is a forum. B. IRC: #ubuntu-artwork @ chat.freenode.net C. Skype: I think some one suggested using Skype D.http://ubuntu-art.linkmaster.com/ http://ubuntu-art.linkmaster.com/: this site has some social media in-built, but I think it is down now. E. this mailing list Let's keep this open for 48hrs, then the option with most votes is the one we use. Remember guys that if we can't agree on the fundamentals, the project is already dead. I vote for A because a forum seems perfect to start a discussion, and B as a secondary option. Gabriel On 01/26/2013 01:40 PM, Thomas Corwin wrote: Well, it seems there is a problem.. Re: [ubuntu-art] Request for Website
Hi guys, The idea for an unofficial art site seem pretty cool. I suggest we register at Jackson's site (http://ubuntu-art.linkmaster.com/), introduce ourselves and use it to discuss the project. This way we can find out how many of us are interested in the project and create a team. Also, we don't mis-use the official mailing list for an unofficial project.
