good point, Cory, thanks for reminding me of that policy.

It was my mistake. By default, I thought that being an Ubuntu Member
it was permitted to use Ubuntu logo and name in order to better
achieve "evangelizing" and spreading the word. Everywhere I give a
talk, or go training people about Ubuntu takes effort and money -as
you already know :). So printing CDs, DVDs, Flyers, prints-outs, and
T-shirts is also something expensive but also useful because I can
give some of them away and sell the rest. Of course, I use the
"earnings" (if any...most of the time there is almost little to cover
the expenses only) to keep on the road, evangelizing.

I will write Canonical about this, of course.

[ubuntu-art] Intrepid Ibex and 4th Anniversary ideas for a t-shirt

2008-10-07 Thread Mauricio Hernandez Z.
I have decided to go printing some t-shirts. I wish I had better
abilities using Inkscape and/or Gimp but I guess this will work for
t-shirt purposes, since "transfer" only works with plain colors, no
effects.

I have uploaded both SVGs and PNGs for anyone interested in using
these. Please, if you modify them, upload and share your contribution
to all of us as well.

And in the meantime...where could/should users be pointed to, for

[ubuntu-art] Artwork files/ better way to use current resources

2005-12-28 Thread Mauricio Hernandez Z.
Hi all,

I have seen great artwork made by volunteers and contributors to the
free-as-in-freedom cause and I think that is just great.

However, it's my feeling current available resources are not being used
as much as they can.

I suggest that instead of uploading files everywhere, you guys upload
them as attachments to wiki pages you create. For example, you could
have your https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NameLastname home page where you
explain who you are and what you do, and
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NameLastname/Artwork .

This way, us, the others, can simply subscribe to those pages and get
automatically notified by email to changes you have made, and also
comment/discuss your artwork on the same wiki page.

This would especially critical now that we are finally getting more
organized after Thursday's meeting.

Do you like this idea?

Re: [ubuntu-art] Re: ubuntu-art Digest, Vol 5, Issue 12

2005-12-08 Thread Mauricio Hernandez

Why not uploading JPG files or PNG, and even SVG one to the wiki?

'Attachments' is the action to do this, at the dropdown menu 'More Actions'

Once there, upload as usual, and finally copy the line you'll see once
the file has been uploaded (attachment:yourfile.png).

Then, simply 'edit' the wiki page and paste the line
(attachment:yourfile.png) onto it. Save the page and that's it.

Why I suggest using the wiki instead of other 'personal' hostings?

Simple! It's ubuntu! and anyone who can see RecentChanges page, will
see we uploaded images. So they can also give us opinions. Also, they
can subscribe to the pages we edit.

Hi all,

Personally, I'd say Daniel is absolutely right. Art team should recive
those bug reports and in case we have no idea how to solve them or
help, get in touch with Devel team.

However, please consider I am a total newbie to the 'art team', I'm
just getting familiar with what you do, and also consider that I use
GNOME 1% of the month because I am lightweight desktop man (wmaker and
fluxbox) :D so I doubt I can offer that much help on regular basis,
but I can try.
