[ubuntu-art] Re: wallpaper

2006-06-09 Thread Suzan

Hi Chris!

Chris schrieb:

it'd be good for this to be the new colour scheme.

good work ... although something more abstract will probably be wanted
for the final release. I can't see this being as universally
appreciated as a desktop background as, say, the warty wallpaper or
any of the apple OS ones.

Oh... I'v never thougt, it will be the "default" edgy wallpaper. ;-) I
think, not everyone is a fan of comics/figures, etc. I is a proposal for
yet another wall paper, not the default.

anyway, hope this helps

chris

(p.s. being new here, i'm not sure how to submit messages into the
thread, only to the individual email addys, can you help? thanks a
lot!)

If you want send a Mail to the Ubuntu-Art-List, send your Mail to the
following E-Mail-Adress:

ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com

You can do that easily, if you klick in your mail-programm "answer all"
(or what it is in you language). Then your answer-mail go to the list
and the original author.

[ubuntu-art] very first edgy wallpaper

2006-06-07 Thread Suzan
Hi all!

I know I am a little bit early... but who cares! ;-)

I've got a very rough and simple first design for a edgy wallpaper. It's
very, very rough, so don't be afraid. No ubuntu-logo, no color-scheme,
only a first idea. Made with Inkscape and Gimp.

So, here it is:

Have fun

No Gnome foot. I think the logo with the shadow looks great.

[ubuntu-art] orange

2006-04-14 Thread Suzan
Hi,

a different opinion about the "orange" thing from myself:

i love it. Orange is fresh an light and fits perfectly with brown and
dark-red colours.

I love the orange tangerine and the orange human icons. They are so
pretty different from other linux iconsets.

Just my 2 cents...

Greetings

Suzan

Hello everyone!

I think the GIMP-Splash ist to much "Photoshop". As I see the hand, the
first thought was "its a Photoshop-Vector-Form". Maybe it's better to
work without Photoshop-Forms for GIMP. ;-)
And I agree, beige would be nicer for Ubuntu as grey.

Suzan

Hi,
This is the modified gimp splash.

I incorporated Mark's and Susanne's suggestions into the new design.
Let me know what you think.
J. Mak

Much, much, muuuch better! :-) This one looks good.

Hello Ari!

For me too - work with the *.svg icons, which you can scale without loss
of quality! Then it's possible to have a nice great icon for the
background.

And the icon... i'm not shure, if it's too much modified. But the idea
with the icon in the icon in the icon... is nice.
