You can consider some document apps logo's
Also a flat gedit cause ubuntu comes with that IDE and notepad in one.
Ubuntu software centre of course and might copyleft something for the Gnome or
even Gnome key ring art.
And just let the most logical text roll

Thanks for suggestions.

I will play with things you suggested, to see how it's gonna turn out.
About this Live CD thing, maybe it is better to remove it completely.
Content area will look more coherent, that's for sure. Somehow, it's
leftover from some old buggy OSs, to have that little "32-bit" mark,
or something, on the upper right corner, so i gues I should get rid of
it. :)

About back icons, that is something I'm not finished (and satisfied)
with yet. I wanted to use some Ubuntu pictograms, with some taglines
added below, but I have no idea which ones would make sense to be
placed on a cover, not to look totally out of place and illogical.

Some suggestions maybe...?

Dis agree mainly the hardware thing, leak of tools in PS of lightning the high
price license and the speed.
Only in the interface it self photoshop would win but giving tools 9 and 10 way
to high.
For the education I got both were used as beginning tool until you 've more
exprience then they came with other and yes license closed source software what
cost an hell lot software and I both experienced way better and for both
software their could be a lot of approvement. Especially for GIMP since it is
Open Source why it doesn't happen? It's not necessary

Re: [ubuntu-art] Ubuntu DVD Packaging Artwork

2011-02-07 Thread jjungschlager
For most of my costumers it would be quite handy if the cover wouldn't have to
many changes if I give them Ubuntu dvd's but concider the following, every MS
windows version has a bit different color release colour choices can change in
Ubuntu.
Really like the purple pink black color now.
People are probaly going to work more with CLI as an opposite from what the
past show people are use GUI's more often or they gonna wank about great an big
effects like os x, beceuse Ubuntu aims not only high class computers such as
for gaming, video/graphic editing that wouldn't happen to our system.

Anyway good luck keep the color schedule dynamic if you really want it to be
around for a while.

Ofcourse, I will keep developing Ubuntu DVD covers in the future, but
I just wanted to make something that will last for a longer time,
without having to change the DVD cover every six months. Why not
having one DVD cover, and just changing the DVD labels when new
version is out. :)
