Re: [ubuntu-art] [Breathe] applications-internet

Maybe try the land without the lat/long grid?

The third looks unecessarily busy, but the second with the glossy gradient
doesn't say Internet to me. I think the first is the way to go if the grid
was improved.

Although I like the look and style of your grid, you can tell it is just an
approximation.
Your parallels are good, but your meridians don't look right, for example
the second and third meridian from the left appear parallel in the southern
hemisphere.

Some of the maths here may be of use to you, is it possible to code that
kind of thing with svg?

The grid is off. One could use an UVSphere in Blender as template. If
you want to try that and need help. ask me off-list.

I wonder if we should show any landmasses at all, as half of the world
can't be shown and residents of the respective countries might not like
that.

So how about a more abstract globe, with a grid that gives an impression
of light/electricity?

I really like the idea but the landmasses seem to be further south than
normal and larger
in comparison to the size of the globe. For example, Greenland's location
and size make
me do a double take. I think Thorsten's idea of an 'agnostic' globe might be
easier and
better from a technical and PR point of view.

Again, it's a really good idea and you've made fantastic contributions so
keep it up!
