[ubuntu-art] A small suggestion
Hey everyone, This is my first email to the art list, although I've been subscribed for a while.. I was thinking that in Edgy, there should be icons for different types of directories, e.g. a Music directory icon, a Photos directory icon, etc. Also, maybe the ~/Desktop directory should have the "Desktop" emblem as it's icon instead of as an emblem, like it is in the Places menu. Just a random idea I thought I'd throw out there. You guys did great with Dapper. I can't wait to see what new style you cook up for Edgy. -- Cyphase http://www.cyphase.com/ "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you will always long to return." - Leonardo da Vinci -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

This spec is more a ubuntu-desktop spec rather than an artwork spec. -- Verso l'Alto ! -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

Hello, That is a good idea. Mandriva already use such directory and integrate them in the places menu. I wrote spec braindump about that. https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+spec/desktop-places And welcome to the art team. Re: [ubuntu-art] A small suggestion
I don't mean emblems. I mean the directory icon being replaced by a different icon, like in Finder on Mac. There's an icon for the Music directory, Movies directory, etc. Same thing with the Desktop folder. The emblem should be the directory icon. Again, it's just an idea.
