Hello, > Shortlist > * Beautiful art all round, but perhaps inconsistent? Love the new colors. --TJS I don't know if anyone has used compiz and xgl yet, but it adds a shadow around the window, including on the window decorations. It looks very poor to me. If Edgy is going to be about new technology, I'd love to see XGL make it in, and for the windows to actually look nice. Love the new colors. --TJS I find it interesting that you have mentioned the possible usage of "new technologies" in future Ubuntu releases. I've spoken with the art team about this before. They say that it might very well be possible that Ubuntu will support special effects such as alpha blending in the future, since support for video cards is rapidly increasing. It's, of course, only viable when video acceleration is possible on the system. Something to keep in the back of your head when thinking of new ideas for the user interface. GNU/Linux developers have always been able to come up with creative means of using their computers' capabilities, and I'm sure we won't have any problems with that.
