Hi, Humanity icon theme was not much discussed here. It was basically 3 people who worked on it and its been down to only 2 for more than a year now.
Many may already know that Humanity and elementary icon theme are siblings. Most of the icons are same. Daniel was incharge of elementary and I was looking after Humanity. Our task was to try to keep them distinct and similar at the same time..! For Ubuntu 11.04, I do *not* plan on making any changes in Humanity. It will mostly be the same theme that was released in maverick. I'll be mainly working on elementary icons and any relevant changes from elementary will land in Humanity too. But i dont see many changes happening for Humanity. However, since several here have mentioned an interest in making icons they can come up with new improvements/ideas for the theme. Pls make sure to follow the Humanity icon guidelines <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/HumanityIcons/Guidelines> which is mostly based on the tango guidelines. You can either upload your ideas to the wiki or send your ideas to this mailing list or to me directly. Some of the things I'm not very happy with is the icon for image MIMEs, it looks too much like a slate. And audio MIME icon which uses a paper as the background<https://bugs.launchpad.net/humanity/+bug/448424>.
