[ubuntu-art] Mascot wallpapers for future releases

Both Hardy and Intrepid turned out *very* beautiful (in my opinion). I know that many of the mascot wallpapers suggested looks really bad - mainly because this is a very hard task. I was sad to see the mascot concept didn't survive in Jaunty, but again I must admit, nothing I've seen matches the quality of the last releases. If no truely artisticly amazing mascot artwork comes along as default wallpaper for Koala, I would at least hope to see the mascot used in Alpha releases. Using the current release wallpaper in Alphas is (can't find the right word, but something like) confusing. Just my 2 cent :-) Mads Rosendahl //MadsRH anotherubuntu.blogspot.com -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

What are mascot wallpapers? :S Ben From: Cory K. To: Discussion on Ubuntu artwork Sent: Thursday, 16 April, 2009 14:06:26 Subject: [ubuntu-art] Mascot wallpapers for future releases. While I've heard word that Canonical would like to move away from the mascot wallpapers I think they are (or can be) quite fun. I think there's no reason why we can't collect the best from each release from here on out and have then in their own section. Maybe even have this be it's own ongoing project that someone can manage. Get the word out and collect submissions from different places. All it would require is some writing and management skills. I mean, people will create some, in any case :) -- Thorsten Wilms thorwil's design for free software: http://thorwil.wordpress.com/ -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
