You can add lines like these to the end of the index.theme: ApplicationFont=sans 18 DocumentsFont=sans 18 DesktopFont=sans 18 WindowTitleFont=sans 18 MonospaceFont=monospace 18 I do *not* suggest doing this because although one font size might look good on your desktop it definitely will not look good on all desktops. This is a bug in the selection of the font by the installer (or whatever) and I suggest you report it if it isn't already. On my system the fonts were larger than before, so setting large fonts in the theme wouldn't help me at all ;) -- Ken -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

Re: [ubuntu-art] New Wave metacity on Jaunty
Can be adjusted via gconf-editor or going System -Preferences - Appearance and selecting the Fonts tab. -Matt You can do anything you set your mind to when you have vision, determination, and and endless supply of expendable labor. No tree's were harmed during this transmission. However, a great number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced 2009/3/27 Anton Kerezov ank...@gmail.com Hello everybody, As I see on many screenshot the font sizes in jaunty are very small thus making the metacity look very ugly. We should give it a try -- in fact, Anton already made something like this at the very beginning but I was not that convinced. But on your mockup that looks quite classy. However, the only thing that bothers me is that fact that corners are too rounded! Please Giuseppe, could you make the corners much less rounded (like on the Emerald theme, in fact)? I am already working in this way. Sorry, but in these days I did not have enough time to work for it. I can start again today. I don't know. Maybe we could begin with searching for good candidates for the icon theme and then modify them -- color, shape of such or such icon -- to fit our desires. So if a you have some time to kill on gnome looks, don't hesitate It's a good idea and a good way. For example, I like the Elementary Incons. They have their source. In the past I had tried to make changes and I don't think that it's hard. It's just an idea. Re: [ubuntu-art] New Wave Metacity
That's really nice! Good job. Could you just try to remove the shadow behind the title bar? And could you show us how the inactive windows look? Sorry, I didn't mean the shadow behind the title bar, but behind the title of the window bar -- no shadow behind the font thus. That's not the same thing! Sorry for the confusion. Also, do you think it would be possible to add a really light gradient in the light gray part of the window? Here is what I mean: http://img218.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=38875_newwavemetacity2fz2_122_381lo.jpg That makes it really better, imo. Sure, but just for the commentary. Indeed, yesterday I don't worked over it but I have done a first draft. Today I will work in this way. http://img169.imageshack.us/my.php?image=nwmetacityinactivewindozy2.png http://img178.imageshack.us/my.php?image=nwmetacityinactivewindodf9.png We can probably begin to think about controls. We'll have to try different things, and I'll probably mock something up this week-end. We can also improve the taskbar, particularly the monochromic icons -- which are already made, but I don't have them here at work. I'm in accord with you. gp -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
