Also can someone tell me how not to top post whatever that means, since I
think i got screamed at for that before.

You pretty much just move your cursor from where it starts to the bottom
of the page.

Worked that way last time I use gmail through the web anyway. I use
Thunderbird now. I'm sure pretty regular web-gmail users could chime in.

There should also be a way to remove the footer the list adds. (I wonder
if we shouldn't just turn that off altogether?)

Just delete the top two lines above the gmail quote and use the ctrl
end key combo. That will make it so you don't top post anymore.

I do think that we should turn the footer off. Furthermore, I think we
should get rid of the [ubuntu-art] tag appended to the front of the emails
and stop munging the reply-to header.

 Also, here's a question..

 What's so bad about top-posting?

Googling will show you the best info on this. Also, when you subscribe
to this list it gives you links on this subject.

I'm pretty sure I didn't see anything when I subscribed to the list.
There is definitely nothing on
https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art, and definitely
nothing in the 'Welcome to the ubuntu-art mailing list' email I
received when I subscribed.

Even if I'm wrong and the information is actually there, I can't
really concede it was clear and obvious. Perhaps it's worth
re-visiting the guidelines issue so that you don't have to put
yourself out by telling people to RTFM constantly.
