I fixed it up but something about the icon is making the renderer spit
errors no matter if I use mine or yours. I'll look into this. Looks like
it's something related to how you might have labeled something. The
error says something about "UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't
encode character u'\xe9' in position 4: ordinal not in range(128)"
http://paste.ubuntu.com/135474

You forgot to vacuum your defs. :) File>Vacuum Defs This single step can
sometimes cut the filesize in half. Very important when transferring
these files around. :)

is very much needed to render the icon correctly. Also, remember to
vacuum defs before you save it.

I will use the 1st iPod for the set. But, you have a reflection
underneath the unit and not a shadow. Since there a are a good few apps
that add reflection to icons I have to insist that the reflection be
dropped in favor of just a simple shadow.

The Shuffle will not be used and we still need a image for
multimedia-player.*. It would be great if you could run with my RockBox
Touch idea.

The ipod [1]: The screen haves on the right side a bold line. On the
left side it's good. Make the right side like the left one and the
results in 48, 32 and 24 (panel) would be better. ;)

I did a *VERY* quick icon based on my idea and through it up on the wiki.

It's a trademark, I think. But I didn't say this for legal reasons. A
in-use screen looks friendlier and a little bit less like advertising
for Apple.

Yes, better. Even better would be something without that slanted,
mirrored cover image. Looks like you just scaled it asymmetrically for
the nano ...

If these can be used device-specific, I would like to see less gloss on
the first. Plus the screen as if it was in use, no apple logo.

Can these come up as HW specific devices (gnome-dev-ipod.*) now or
should we look for a more generic media player image?

If it needs to be generic, (multimedia-player.*) I want us to create a
touch-screen looking device with some controls on it. Anyone up for that?

We /could/ do both. Use 1 of these submissions for gnome-dev-ipod.*
(we'll use the 1stiPod one) and a new one *something like* (but not
quite) the iPod touch with visible player controls. Something that looks
like an evolution of RockBox. (www.rockbox.org)
