I've seen sets that use similar icons for prefs and volume mixers. I'll leave it for Sebastian to explore. I updated the wiki with a new version for preferences-desktop with a couple of knobs and a peak meter as Cory suggestted. The shadow of the 2nd version isn't sitting right. Gradient of 2nd version is happier :) In both cases, I think the highlights on the edges of the openings for the faders are too intense (they attract attention to themselves, but should only support). In this case, I just thought that the icon have the same style as system-monitor and utilities-terminal so add the logo.
