If someone does know any other shop besides LB electronics, please let me know. Thinking of starting to play around it a bit in my spare time. :) cheers -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au
KDE Help Center does not open -- gives error
Hi Fellow Ubuntu ppl, *SMILE* I have noticed that 2 different applications which use the KDE Help Center when I attempt to open the Help Handbook (e.g. open the Help / Handbook pull-down menu) I get a error message in a window with an OK button {which closes the message window} I have used the Synaptic Package Manager and re-installed the KDE Help Center -- but the error still occurs. Error message window: Could not launch the KDE Help Center: Could not find service 'khelpcenter' [OK] {button} What is the best way for me to go about getting the KDE Help Center to work again. Note that in the past it HAS worked, but something has broken it :-((( -- Fond Regards, Peter Eric (aka 'pew') WILLIAMS from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia My free website is: http://pewtas.googlepages.com (or) http://tinyurl.com/yuyejs (please visit my free website and let me know what you think about it.) -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au
z600 driver for a Lexmark printer.
I have loaded and installed z600 driver which variuos sources assure me will drive my Lexmark x1195 printer. http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Lexmark-X1195 says it will work perfectly. SystemAdministrationprinters Sees both the printer and the z600 driver. I have configured and re-configured the printer carefully following the prompts. But when it comes to actually printing . . nothing happens. Is there anyone out there who has a working Lexmark of similar specs? This is my last option. After that I will have to go out and buy an HP or Epsom and finished. Dave W -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au
Utilities wanted please
I am a new Ubuntu user still trying to ditch the vestiges of my dependence on Windows. There are a few very useful utilities that I will miss very dearly if I can't replace them with a Linux equivalent:- *A keyboard generated macro which is very useful for inputting certain strings of text. This utility allows me to input repetitive information such as Credit Card numbers, Email addresses on the fly. (AutoHotkey is only for Windows but it's exactly what I need) *A utility that allows me to monitor CPU temperature and CPU fan speed. *A utility that lists installed Hardware information by make and model.
