Re: substitute for flash on linux 10.04 (desktop)

2010-09-13 Thread Ryan Macnish
Sure, there are two alternatives to Flash that i know of, one is called
Gnash and the other is called Lightspark, which dont work with as many
websites as flash, but are getting better all the time.

But no i am NOT going to tell you how to bypass your schools blocker to
download torrents, that is not what this loco is here for, sorry.

an adobe flash alternative would be cool.
also do you know of a hotspot shield like product that would allow me
to use a torrent around my schools blocker?

2010-09-13 Thread Ryan Macnish
I am a bit confused by the title and then what you said after that. Can you
clarify for me:

Do you want an alternative to Adobe Flash?

OR

Do you want to run a Windows program on Ubuntu?

Sorry, just need to know this before i know exactly what you want.

Ubuntu-AU Meeting Tuesday 14/09 @ 2100 AEST

2010-09-13 Thread Jared Norris
Good evening,

Just a gentle reminder about the meeting being held tomorrow night on
the Ubuntu-AU IRC channel. A quick look over the agenda shows topics
about the Maverick release parties, Loco rebuilding and the upcoming
LCA2011 conference. Nisshh has kindly offered to chair the meeting so
now all we need is as many people to show as possible.

For a detailed agenda see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/Meetings and if you're not sure
how to get to the IRC channel have a quick look at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/IRC

Hope to see you all there.

Regards,

Jared Norris
