Re: Evolution "error while synchronising inbox"
Hi Simon, I am not sure what Evolution is actually doing when it "synchronises" upon closing a Directory? But by emptying such a Directory it seems there is nothing to synchronise so it sets itself to "zero" and, thus, removes whatever is irritating it. When the emails are moved back into the Directory it does a fresh, uncorrupted(?), synchronisation. Because I have several Directories the whole process was tedious. Anyway, that's my work-around after trying a few I happened across via Google. Thank you for your suggestion. Re: Evolution "error while synchronising inbox"
I don't know if it'll be helpful but Evolution did this to me a while ago with my work emails. The problem for me was that work's mail server would 'reset' the conection as Evolution didn't sync often enough. I had IT change the mail server settings and I've not had the issue again. Regards. -- SIMON IVES - Please consider the environment before printing this email or any attachments. Re: Evolution "error while synchronising inbox"
Mitch, I am most grateful for the attention and detail you have provided. While you were doing that I was laboriously emptying, in turn, each Evolution folder that protested with the "error while synchronising" message. I emptied them to separate temp folders and found that the original folder, now empty, would correct itself. The I moved the files back to their original folders and had to restart Evolution each time. But now it seems to be working correctly. The procedure (below) you have provided will nevertheless be very useful. Thanks again.
