loco.ubuntu.com IRC Channel
Good afternoon, Following a discussion on the -locoteams IRC channel this afternoon regarding loco.ubuntu.com and how ical feeds appear to be causing problems I've made a change to our team's IRC venue. We use the IRC channel as our main location for all online events and the location details are stored at http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/venues/Australia/380/detail/ The conversation leads be to believe that by setting a time zone for the "venue" of the IRC channel that it might actually force the ical feeds to work better. Unfortunately this means I've had to specify one single time zone for the venue despite it covering a multitude of time zones throughout the year. Please be aware I've made it UTC+10 for now as this is the most common time zone in use when taking into consideration all Australia and all year. If it doesn't improve the ical feed we can always change it back. Please let me know if there is any feedback positive or negative regarding this issue that's been bugging many of the team for a fair while now. -- Regards, Jared Norris JP(Qual) BBehSc(Psych) https://wiki.ubuntu.com/JaredNorris -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au

Loco.ubuntu.com
Good evening, Some of you may have noticed that it appears loco.ubuntu.com has recently deleted a few meetings and events that had been organised. I'm told this was due to a server swap and that there will at some stage be the possibility of having the data recouped. I've also been told by the same person that it would be okay for those events coming up soon (the global jam events and the next meeting) to be re-added again. My apologies to anyone who has organised one of these events or meetings but if you can please re add them to loco.u.c and update the team that would be greatly appreciated. If you're looking for some events and you stumble across links that appear broken please check the main loco.ubuntu.com Australian Team page [0] so you can make sure you're going to the most up to date links. Sorry for all the inconvenience this has caused. April meeting followup - ics files from loco.ubuntu.com
Hi all, At the April meeting, I brought up the issue of importing .ics files from loco.ubuntu.com into Thunderbird/Lightning, and the times being shown incorrectly on the calendar. I found a method of fixing this problem was to append a 'Z' onto the end of each date/time in the .ics file, and then importing this into Thunderbird. As requested at the meeting, I created a bug report [1] on Launchpad for the loco-directory project for this issue. I did this a while ago, but when thinking about the Task I was given at the meeting, I just remembered that I was supposed to email it out to everyone. Anyway, here it is for those that are interested.
