Menu Editor for the Application Launcher Menu (widget)
Hi Linux Ubuntu folk, I had been active on the ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com email list -- however, I'm not getting an answer to this issue on there... so I decided to ask on the Ubuntulinux Yahoo! Group. 2008/8/8 ishwor [EMAIL PROTECTED]: 1) Go to console (ALT+F2 and type xterm) 2) Type kmenuedit and press enter. Okay... that works, and I can edit my submenus and menu items. But only one at a time. And I don't see how to sort them (e.g. it would be nice to have my submenus and menu items appear alphabetically). Quoted from my message (below): I now have 2 questions: 1) How can I make all of my menus and submenus and menu items be SORTED -- instead of not sorted (which is what they currently are). 2) When I edited the submenus and menu items, I selected each item one at a time. Is there a way that I can select multiple menu items (e.g. like holding the control key or using the shift key -- to select more than just one menu item) Fond Regards and Best Wishes, PEW from Hobart, Tassie, 'Down Under' -- Forwarded message -- From: Peter Williams [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: 2008/8/8 Subject: Re: I need a Menu Editor for the Application Launcher Menu (widget) To: ishwor [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com Hi Ishwor, 2008/8/8 ishwor [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Hi Peter, On Thu, 7 Aug 2008 05:00:31 pm Peter Williams wrote: Does not appear to have a Menu Editor option. Sorry Peter, I missed something else on first read. Your using KDE4 where im still on 3 for familiarities sake. No idea how this works with KDE4. Right click the K Menu icon and choose Menu Editor. Does not appear to have a Menu Editor option. Does anyone else have any suggestions of where I can find a Menu Editor for it. This is a BIG PROBLEM because my Lost and Found menu is CHOCKABLOCK full of menu items... mainly for WINE software!!! Ideally I'd like to use a menu editor and copy them to a new menu -- say, named WINE. But of course, I cannot do this without a menu editor!!! Actually after rereading this its not quite what your after but may do the job for you anyways. So, I figure I need a Menu Editor for the ALM. When I used Gnome I used the Ala Carte Menu Editor and found it to be quite good. Is there something similar for KDE 4.0 and the ALM ?!?
