Hi Peter,
Thanks for your email :)
thanks for your suggestions for adding start ubuntu and ubuntu gnome
to our local mailout service ubuntu.net.au <http://ubuntu.net.au>
You're most welcome :)
I visited the start ubuntu wiki page
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StartUbuntu and I still have no idea what it
is. something about pushing users to replace xp with ubuntu somehow
It is an international community project to reach out to Windows XP
users and offer them an alternative system. The project at the moment
needs more love and more active contributors. If I will manage to get
empty slot at Ubuntu Online Summit, I might announce a new phase for
StartUbuntu. We have converted many people and it is time now to target
other versions like Vista, 7 and even 8 :)
Have a look at the tabs, specially activities:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StartUbuntu
Here is a previous session:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/amjjawad#UOS_1406
If this is still confusing, I'm here to answer any Q :)
But it is just a project, not a system (OS). I appreciate if we could
show a banner and if someone clicks on that banner, he/she will be
directed to the StartUbuntu Wiki Page :)
not sure about ubuntu gnome. we already have so many options on
ubuntu.net.au <http://ubuntu.net.au> if anyone was to ask for it I
would download it for them
I am asking for your help :)
Ubuntu GNOME is a fine and decent system. I have put so much efforts
into this project since I have joined back in July, 2013 after I quit
Lubuntu (2 years with Lubuntu).
I have personally done a lot for the projects I contribute to and with
the help of the community, Ubuntu GNOME deserved to be on that site for
people to download :) it is for those who love GNOME :)
I am also a member of GNOME foundation :D
