I have two Dvico dual 4's for 4 tuners that multiplex so I can in fact record 8 channels if 4 of them are on the same multiplex. They work great however unfortunately I think you still need to drop in some firmware but I think they are now supported in the kernel even the rev2's. Thanks so the dvico dual 4's work a treat eh, is that the same for the PCIe and PCI? I know one is meant to be faster though can any real time benefit be seen. TV Tuner card for Ubuntu 9.04 amd64
Hi, Want to use a TV Tuner card with Ubuntu, apparently this is no problem with MythTV though on the following page http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Supported_Hardware The guide talks about plugging in the card then running commands to see if it compatible? I want to know if it compatible before i purchase it :) Is there any other avenues i can pursue? Hi... I use a Pinnacle 72e (DiB7000) and this works out of the box from ubuntu intrepid (8.10) onwards... any earlier then you need to apply kernel patches etc... This is however (72e) only a single channel receiver and it might be wise (I wasn't!) to get a dual channel receiver then you can watch record at the same time!...
