[Bug 79676] Backport policyd-weight
Public bug reported: Could you backport policyd-weight to edgy. The package is so simple I could simply download the fiesty version and use dpkg -i, but I need the (security) update. ** Affects: edgy-backports (upstream) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Backport policyd-weight https://launchpad.net/bugs/79676 -- ubuntu-backports mailing list ubuntu-backports@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports
[Bug 78912] Re: Please Backport ALSA-Stable-1.0.13 for Ubuntu-6.10
It's not possible to fix Alsa since it is largely in the kernel (via Backports, that is) :( You should instead file a bug against the kernel (linux-source-2.6.15) and ask for a kernel update. ** Changed in: dapper-backports (upstream) Status: Unconfirmed => Rejected -- Please Backport ALSA-Stable-1.0.13 for Ubuntu-6.10 https://launchpad.net/bugs/78912 -- ubuntu-backports mailing list ubuntu-backports@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports
[Bug 55599] Re: Request Postfix 2.3 Backport
I might also point out that keeping vital core software like postfix up to date is in keeping with the long term support of Dapper LTS. I can report that in production this is working with amavisd-new running clamav. -- Request Postfix 2.3 Backport https://launchpad.net/bugs/55599 -- ubuntu-backports mailing list ubuntu-backports@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports
[Bug 55599] Re: Request Postfix 2.3 Backport
I can further confirm that the backport of postfix to dapper works in production. Please consider helping others by running this. Ask me if questions about it but all I did was follow the prevu instructions and then type "prevu postfix". -- Request Postfix 2.3 Backport https://launchpad.net/bugs/55599 -- ubuntu-backports mailing list ubuntu-backports@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports
[Bug 58721] Re: Edgy upgrade breaks multiple Matrox cards
I tried the mga driver posted above by Paulo J. S. Silva. with a g400 agp. i.e. http://www.ime.usp.br/~pjssilva/xserver-xorg-video-mga_1.4.2.dfsg.1-1_i386.deb The installation worked, the 2D display worked but I would get a total machine lockup when I tried to display 3D animations from either gnome-screensaver or xscreensaver. I gave up at this point. Fred: I stiil haven't tried the matroxfb_base approach. Are there some step by step instructions (for the compiling impaired people like me)? [Bug 76332] Re: Trac 0.10.3-1 needed in edgy-backports
0.10.3-1 builds, installs, and works perfectly well under prevu. +1 edgy (This is not a particularly common package, so it may be a while before three more people test this, but this is a rather major bugfix. [Bug 65451] Re: [UNMETDEPS] gnomesword has unmet dependencies
gnomesword is in universe, which is being community maintained. Afaik, backporting means to take a package from the developing version and to build it on a stable version, so, building a .deb from scratch and put it to Edgy would not work (Edgy is frozen). A first step is to try to get sword backported to Edgy. When the Feisty gnomesword builds on Edgy then, a backport *should* be possible. -- [UNMETDEPS] gnomesword has unmet dependencies https://launchpad.net/bugs/65451 -- ubuntu-backports mailing list ubuntu-backports@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports

[Bug 65451] Re: [UNMETDEPS] gnomesword has unmet dependencies
I'm sorry, I do not agree. I've built debs of GnomeSword svn on a stock Ubuntu 6.10 with libsword- dev modified as above since november. Moreover, I'm using it everyday. There is nothing wrong with GnomeSword. libsword-dev in Edgy is buggy. Public bug reported: I have a Hp Pavilion dv6000 laptop, and headphones don't work the current version of alsa (1.0.11): pluggin in headphones does not mute speakers, and no sound comes out from the headphones.
