[Bug 208091] [NEW] firefox will not open local files from remote files

2008-03-27 Thread Daniel LaGesse
Public bug reported:

I'm using the Firefox 3 beta 4 backport I found in one of the other bugs
in backports.

When there is a link to a local file in a remote file (I noticed this at
https://help.ubuntu.com/7.10/programming/C/ar01s01.html), Firefox will
not open it when clicked, or in another tab. If you copy the link
location and do it manually, it works fine.

I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug however. It seems to be
annoying, but I may be overlooking security concerns.

Daniel

note: Is this in the right place? I wasn't sure.

I'm in the Heron beta, and still no candy for me.

Is there any way someone could provide a step-by-step guide to fix this?

[Bug 150277] Re: curlftpfs-0.9.1 + libcurl/7.16.4 segfaults on removing files

2008-03-27 Thread Oumar Aziz OUATTARA
@John Dong: Can you please check and accept the debdiff ?

@Walter Huf : More generally I think we shouldn't rely on backport to
fix a bug on a stable release. Backports are meant just for new
functionalities. Bugs should be fixed on every concerned supported
release. So you're totally right. This is even more critical as curl is
in main so is mean to be officially supported bu Ubuntu . I think you
should open a bug on Ubuntu about this general matter. I'll second it.

@Olexander: thank you for your fix :-)
