[Bug 258803] Re: Current version is obsolete

2009-02-14 Thread Jérémy Subtil
Finally, I think backports are more appropriated to such a situation. Indeed
this bug is not enough critical to ask for a SRU process
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates), because:
- only some cases of network games seem to be affected (network game on
internet servers or LAN with older versions);
- there doesn't appear to be any safe patch available.

Backports should be a quicker and easier process, in the way that we
won't need to build a safe patch from the newer version, and we will
only have to re-package the Jaunty package according to the
Hardy/Intrepid context.

According to the backport process
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports#Backport Process),
I'm adding this bug to hardy-backports because nothing seems to have
been done yet.

Also, there is 0.6.3 version in Jaunty, maybe the network game of the
0.6.2 version in Intrepid is broken as well… This has to be confirmed.

[Bug 286337] Re: Please backport OpenSSH 5.1 to Hardy

2009-02-14 Thread Pablo Castellazzi
May be we can find a middle ground for it, like backport it with an
alternative name like openssh5. This way those who really need the new
features not present in hardy can have it, and you keep the backports
repositories safe as usual.

[Bug 329535] [NEW] Please backport kvm 83 to Intrepid

2009-02-14 Thread Gioele Barabucci
Public bug reported:

Please backport kvm 83 from Jaunty to Intrepid.

kvm 83 adds working support for VDE, making possible to use kvm's -net
vde functionality, linking kvm to vde_switches and to all the other
virtual networking configuration allowed by VDE.

kvm, as packaged in Intrepid, depends on VDE packages but has not been
compiled with VDE support. The package in Jaunty fixes that, along with
better VDE support.
