[Bug 315760] Re: Please backport Pidgin 2.5.3-0ubuntu1

2009-02-28 Thread Chris Coulson
No, because that would mean that people who installed only the Pidgin
backport or the FUSA backport would suffer with the same broken
integration, unless the backports depended on each other, which is not a
good solution.

The safest solution is to patch the Pidgin backport to have the same
DBus interface as what is already in Intrepid.

[Bug 336019] [NEW] Please backport kile - 1:2.1~svn20090217-0ubuntu1

2009-02-28 Thread Jörg Blank
Public bug reported:

Please backport latest kile from jaunty.

The kile package in intrepid can not run a spellcheck because of an old
dependency to kde3 kcontrol. You also can not use the the quickpreview
function.

Both problems should be fixed in jaunty.

Kile itself compiles fine on intrepid, but the build fails while packing
kile-doc, a package not present in intrepid.

dh_install -pkile-doc --sourcedir=debian/tmp
dh_install: kile-doc missing files (usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/*), aborting
make: *** [binary-install/kile-doc] Error 1

Kile is a Latex editor, so having a spellcheck would be nice.

[Bug 335866] Re: Please backport w-scan 20081106-0ubuntu1 (universe) to Intrepid, Hardy and Dapper

2009-02-28 Thread mirak
I tried the upstream version, and it doesn't work well for cable in
France

we have transponders like 762,375mhz we can scan in step of 125hz

so this tool doesn't do what it should, and find all transponders

[Bug 309568] Re: Please backport Swfdec 0.8.2 from Jaunty to Intrepid & Hardy

2009-02-28 Thread Musicien77
For Hardy (LTS) users, backporting 0.8.x is also very important, because
it supports new video format, for example used in Youtube : 0.6.x no
longer works for new videos. Thanks in advance for Hardy backport.

[Bug 88376] Re: Please backport wxmaxima and maxima from feisty

2009-02-28 Thread Andres Mujica
I'm marking this as invalid because as stated at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports a Backport must follow
some rules to be feasible, but this as stated by Valentin's comment
requires changes to language interpreter, which could induce potential
regresions to the system.

[Bug 315760] Re: Please backport Pidgin 2.5.3-0ubuntu1

2009-02-28 Thread Alessio "Spinus" Moscatello
Yes, we could test Pidgin 2.5.4, but I think that the issue with FUSA
will remain, because the fix is in the package fast-user-switch-applet
version 2.24.0-0ubuntu8 that at the moment is only in Jaunty...so I
think we should first backport fast-user-switch-applet...
