[Bug 1171372] [NEW] Please backport puppet 2.7.18-1ubuntu1.1 (main) from quantal-updates

2013-04-22 Thread Malte S. Stretz
Public bug reported:

Please backport puppet 2.7.18-1ubuntu1.1 (main) from quantal-updates to
precise.

Reason for the backport:

The more or less essential Puppet Module Tool was bundled with 2.7.14.

At least puppet-common installs fine as long as you grab libshadow-
ruby1.8 as well.

http://docs.puppetlabs.com/puppet/2.7/reference/modules_installing.html

Testing:

Mark off items in the checklist [X] as you test them, but please leave the
checklist so that backporters can quickly evaluate the state of testing.

You can test-build the backport in your PPA with backportpackage:
$ backportpackage -u ppa:lp username/ppa name -s quantal -d precise puppet

* precise:
[ ] Package builds without modification
[ ] puppetmaster-common installs cleanly and runs
[ ] puppetmaster installs cleanly and runs
[ ] puppet-testsuite installs cleanly and runs
[ ] puppet installs cleanly and runs
[x] puppet-common installs cleanly and runs
[ ] puppet-el installs cleanly and runs
[ ] puppetmaster-passenger installs cleanly and runs
[ ] vim-puppet installs cleanly and runs

Reverse dependencies:
=
The following reverse-dependencies need to be tested against the new version of
puppet. For reverse-build-dependencies (-Indep), please test that the package
still builds against the new puppet. For reverse-dependencies, please test that
the version of the package currently in the release still works with the new
puppet installed. Reverse- Recommends, Suggests, and Enhances don't need to be
tested, and are listed for completeness-sake.
