Noel: yes, I was referring to 180.11 After talking to Mario about using the backports for driver 180 I came to the conclusion that we can use intrepid-proposed instead. The modalias package of 180 won't be installed by default, therefore Jockey won't suggest 180 unless you install nvidia-180-modaliases. mattcasters: glyphcache is enabled by default now. See the changelog of
180.06 ("Enabled the X Render "GlyphCache" by default.")
Shock: I have packaged the new release (I was affected by the font
corruption bug too) and I have just asked a core developer to upload it
to Jaunty.
ma2412ma: it depends on how busy core developers are. I'll let you know
when the new packages are available in the backports.

I'm currently focussing efforts on Intrepid's kernel (for which I had to write some patches). I'm planning to upload the new drivers soon. As regards Hardy, I haven't uploaded driver 173.14.09 yet because it breaks the compatibility with realtime kernels.
