Its a bit strange that yelp uses xulrunner-1.9 at all ... in gutsy it
should still be linked -rpathed against the old xulrunner 1.8 or even
firefox 2. can you please check where the yelp package comes from?

In case yelp really uses xulrunner-1.9 for a justified reason, then
yelp needs a respin against the backports version. This either means
to backport yelp as well or uploading the current version to
-backports.

[Bug 208091] Re: firefox will not open local files from remote files

2008-10-22 Thread Alexander Sack
is this still a problem with the latest ffox 3? If so, this is best
dealt upstream as its not a ubuntu specific issue. Please search in
bugzilla.mozilla.org to ensure that your bug isnt filed; then open a bug
in bugzilla.mozilla.org and post your bug id (or the one you found
matching your issue) here. Thanks!

The problem of this backport is libflashsupport. We should not have
backported that as it just causes crashes. Is its possible to backout
this backport, please do so.

this look pretty complete. If you think that this has baked long enough
in your PPA to not introduce any hard regressions, go ahead.

Maybe consider to backport the latest ubufox as well.

You could uninstall flashplayer package. If it just happens on some
sites you could install the noflash (maybe named a bit different)
extension from addons.mozilla.org, which will allow you to enable
flash only on some pages.

Don't use flashplayer on amd64 ... if you installed from
adobe/macromedia site you probably have to manually remove flash
related files from ~/.mozilla/plugins.

Please remember not to install plugins from non-ubuntu sources in
future, as those will often make your system unstable.
