Re: [Bug 1260291] [NEW] Please backport vlc 2.1.1-1 (universe) from trusty

2013-12-12 Thread H.-Dirk Schmitt
I have a backport in *ppa:dirk-computer42/c42-backport* for saucy.

This backport needs also a backported libpostproc due to the libav
backport in this ppa.

The precise backport is currently failing on an unsatisfied (and not
well defined) dependency to samba:

checking for SMBCLIENT... no configure: error: Library smbclient

[Bug 1184862] [NEW] Please backport gnome 3.6 to precise

2013-05-27 Thread H.-Dirk Schmitt
Public bug reported:

See https://bugs.launchpad.net/precise-backports/+bug/1165692

Hi, as you can see in the title, i want to propose my idea about the current
LTS 12.04 . With the version 13.04 of Ubuntu, there will be no longer in the
future versions Unity- Compiz and others components and the time of support
this version is too short ( 9 months ) . So, why don't you backport Gnome 3.6.3
and Unity 7 in Ubuntu 12.04.3?? This update will come out in August right? So
there are 4 months after ubuntu 13.04 to fix other bugs of them (gnome and
unity) . There is also another backport that i propose, the backport of the
kernel 3.8.0.x ; it has increased the performance of the computers, for me it
could be very good to see in the next update of the 12.04 LTS. What about it?

[Bug 1073159] Re: Please backport tomcat7 7.0.40 (main) from debian to precise (and quantal) [and tomcat-native] to fix serious CVE reports

2013-05-27 Thread H.-Dirk Schmitt
The bug report is some days old now - so I updated the goal to 7.0.40.
See also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/tomcat7/+bug/1178645
and for libtomcat7-native
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tomcat7/+bug/1092548 .

A "no change backport" from debian [7.0.40-2] to precise was build in
https://launchpad.net/~dirk-computer42/+archive/c42-edge-server and is
distributed in https://launchpad.net/~dirk-
computer42/+archive/c42-backport.

For my installations it works without any known problem.

2013-05-27 Thread H.-Dirk Schmitt

[Bug 1115565] Re: Please backport mediathekview 3.1.0-1 (universe) from raring

2013-05-02 Thread H.-Dirk Schmitt
Sorry all my 20 installations stuck to precise. We have no plan to
migrate to quantal.

The dependencies are:
>  Depends: default-jre | java6-runtime, jarwrapper (>= 0.5),
> libcommons-compress-java, libcommons-lang-java, libjdom1-java, librome-java
>Recommends: flvstreamer, vlc, mplayer-nogui | mplayer

They are satisfied in raring and in my personal "No-change backport to
precise".

So there is no obvious problem for a quantal backport.

My intention is the backport to precise.
As you see in https://launchpad.net/~dirk-computer42/+archive/c42-backport/ I
stuck on 12.04 with some additional backports.
