[Bug 399161] [NEW] Please backport libgcal0 & libgcal-dev from Karmic

2009-07-14 Thread Niels Ganser
Public bug reported:

Please backport http://packages.ubuntu.com/en/karmic/libgcal0 and
http://packages.ubuntu.com/en/karmic/libgcal-dev to Jaunty. As far as I
can see, all their dependencies are already available in Jaunty.

libgcal0 "is a library to access google calendar events and contacts.
Its purpose is to provide easy access to available events/contacts and
to enable common operations like add, delete or edit".

Inter alia, it is used by a KDE akonadi resource
(http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/extragear/pim/googledata/) to sync calendar
events and contacts with the KDE PIM packages.

[Bug 396675] [NEW] Backport tryton- suite of packages from karmic

2009-07-07 Thread Niels Ganser
Public bug reported:

It would be beyond awesome if the tryton- suite of packages (e.g.
http://packages.ubunut.com/search?suite=karmic&searchon=all&keywords=tryton)
could be backported from Karmic.

"Tryton is a high-level general purpose application platform written in
Python and using PostgreSQL as database engine. It is the core base of a
complete business solution."

Inter alias, it provides a very robust, and completely FOSS, book-
keeping solution.

[Bug 395049] [NEW] Backport clojure from Karmic

2009-07-03 Thread Niels Ganser
Public bug reported:

"Clojure is a dynamic programming language that targets the Java Virtual
Machine. It is designed to be a general-purpose language, combining the
approachability and interactive development of a scripting language with
an efficient and robust infrastructure for multithreaded programming.
Clojure is a compiled language - it compiles directly to JVM bytecode,
yet remains completely dynamic. Every feature supported by Clojure is
supported at runtime. Clojure provides easy access to the Java
frameworks, with optional type hints and type inference, to ensure that
calls to Java can avoid reflection. "

ยป http://packages.ubuntu.com/en/karmic/clojure

With the recent release of Stuart Halloway's "Programming Clojure" by
The Pragmatic Programmers, exposure for clojure will greatly increase.
Backporting the package would only help :)
