[Bug 1445688] Re: private file disclosure issue (CVE-2015-0844)

2015-05-14 Thread Scott Kitterman
No. It's not a lie. Trusty backports bugs are not handled within the
Ubuntu project tasks, but under a separate project that I've added now.
What it is, is someone rushing to make an accusation because they don't
understand how the project is managed.

As described in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports
someone needs to verify that the newer backport builds, installs, and
runs on trusty. Once that's done, I'll be glad to upload it.

know this shouldn't really be necessary, and that it could be an issue
for upgrades, but at the same time, I know there's no user of this package
yet since PyECLib isn't used by Swift & Ceph yet.

FYI, the Breaks issue is now fixed in Debian and Ubuntu Utopic, so when
we do the actual backport, it won't have that issue.

[Bug 1351131] Re: Please backport spyder 2.3.0+dfsg-2 (universe) from utopic

2014-07-31 Thread Scott Kitterman
spyder3 and python3-spyder are built from the same source package, so if
you rebuild them both, the spyder3 version requirement will be the same
as the python3-spyder version. The = version dependency is generated at
build time.

The reverse depends will need testing. If the existing versions don't
work with the new python-spyder, then they can be backported too as part
of a set.

[Bug 1347487] Re: backport version 2.3.x to Ubuntu Trusty LTS

2014-07-31 Thread Scott Kitterman
Backports requests are filed against the backports project, not the
requested Ubuntu package. Someone will need to verify that this package
builds/installs/runs on trusty. Once that's done, the backport won't
take long.

More votes won't get this done faster. Doing the testing is all that
matters.

2014-07-16 Thread Scott Kitterman
Unless you changed it and didn't document it in the changelog, the
clamav -daemon package in your precise backport won't actually work
because it needs a newer version of procps and procps than is available
in precise. The minimum version wasn't properly declared in -1.
