[Bug 71043] Re: Backport subversion to Dapper
Thanks for that information. I will try to poke a developer who's more knowledgeable about Subversion packaging to see whether or not a backport is appropriate. ** Changed in: dapper-backports (upstream) Status: Rejected => Unconfirmed -- Backport subversion to Dapper https://launchpad.net/bugs/71043 -- ubuntu-backports mailing list ubuntu-backports@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports
[Bug 71043] Re: Backport subversion to Dapper
There are only new APIs in new "minor" versions but they don't break the old API. They only break the API in major versions like 2.0 but not in 1.x. http://subversion.tigris.org/hacking.html#release-numbering But if you don't want to backport v1.4.x. Is it possible to backport v1.3.2? I have some bugs in v1.3.1. Specially issue #2486 (http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/tags/1.3.2/CHANGES) -- Backport subversion to Dapper https://launchpad.net/bugs/71043 -- ubuntu-backports mailing list ubuntu-backports@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports
[Bug 71043] Re: Backport subversion to Dapper
Newer versions of subversion break API compatibility the packages that build against subversion, which would need recompiling, re-testing, and possible re-backporting of everything that uses Subversion. ** Changed in: dapper-backports (upstream) Status: Unconfirmed => Rejected -- Backport subversion to Dapper https://launchpad.net/bugs/71043 -- ubuntu-backports mailing list ubuntu-backports@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports
