Cool, this sounds reasonable. There are a few things that need to be
verified before we can approve the backports request:
1. We need to make sure the backport will work. I've uploaded a test
build of the backport to my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~broder/+archive
/backports-tests). Please verify that the build completes successfully,
that the resulting packages install, and that the packages will run
after you've installed them.
2. nagios3 has a handful of reverse-dependencies:
mingo:~ evan$ chdist apt-cache maverick rdepends --no-suggests --no-conflicts
--no-breaks --no-replaces --no-enhances nagios3
nagios3
Reverse Depends:
ndoutils-nagios3-mysql
nagvis
nagiosgrapher
nagios-nrpe-plugin
|harden-surveillance
Each of those r-deps needs to be tested against the new version of
nagios3
Once you've finished this testing, you can change the status of the bug
to "Confirmed", and we'll take another look.
