Before someone could help you, you need to provide some information.
information like:
1. What is your ISP?
2. Your ethernet card model
3. Do you have to authenticate to be connected (in windows)?
4. Do you have to use manual setting(in windows)?

You can configure your connection in

System>Preference>Network Configuration (Ubuntu 8.1)
System>Adminstration>Network Configuration (older)

or right clicking the Network manager Icon in the tray, and selecting Manual
Configuration.

My DVD RW was not writing iso correctly. I spoiled 3/4 CDs to write only 1
kubuntu ISO. later I bough a lens cleaner. It works now. :D

1. Default ubuntu installation takes around 2.5GB afaik. If you do not
install a loads of stuff 5/6GB is alright I guess.
But remember, by default your home directory is in your root
partition. Whatever you keep on your desktop and home directory gets
stored in your root partition. So it is upto you. A good practice is
to make another partition as "/home" for a dedicated home folder
(everything you want to store).

If you want to take screenshots of a running OS in a virtual machine
(VM), you have to use your guest operating system's screenshot method.
(print screen and/or any other software). Since a VM runs as any other
application, it doesn't matter when you are taking the sceenshot, just
take it ;)

2. I have no idea, but my opinion is, even if it is possible it is not
a good idea to change the size of the root partition. Why don't you
give it a try? Why not try it in a virtual machine? :D

wget gui সহ উবুন্টুতে দেয়া আছেনা্ আমি ওটাই ইউজ করি। তবে এটা ফ্লাশগেট বা 
আইডাএম এর মত এডভান্স কিনা জানি না। তবে এটা ভালো d4x নামে আরেকটা আছে মনে 
হয় সিনাপটিকে সার্চ দিয়ে দেখুন

To download a file just type

wget http://your-url-to/file

 Use -c option to start resumable downloads

wget -c http://your-link-to/file

You can also mask the program as web browser using -U.
This helps when the sites doesn't allow download managers.

wget -c -U Mozilla http://your-link-to/file

 
You can download an entire website using -r option.

wget -r http://your-site.com

But be careful. It downloads the entire website for you. Since this tool can
put a large load on servers it obeys robot.txt you can mirror a site on you
local drive using -m option.

wget -m http://your-site.com

You can select the levels up to which you can dig into the site and
downloads using -l option.

wget -r -l3 http://your-site.com

This will download only up to 3 levels. Suppose you want download only sub
folders in a website url use --no-parent option. With this option wget
downloads only the sub folders and ignores,the parent folders

wget -r --no-parent http://your-site.com/subfldr/subfolder

You can download all files of a particular format , for example, all pdfs
listed on a webpage,

wget -r -l1 -A.pdf --no-parent http://url-to-webpage-with-pdfs/

Same way we can download mp3s.

Well there has a fun part, to use WGET, you can easily fool the webmaster.
Search Google.

আমার দুটি প্রশ্ন

আমি সব সময় লিনাক্স ইন্সটলেশনের সময় পার্টিশন ৫ বা ৬ জিবি রাখি । তবে আমি 
জানতে চাচ্ছি উবুন্টু আইবেক্স Graphically  install করতে  হলে মোটামুটি কত স্পেস 
লাগবে।মানে শূধু ভাচুয়াল বক্সে ইনস্টলেশন প্রক্রিয়ার স্ক্রিনশট নিতে চাচ্ছি। 
ভার্চুয়াল 
বক্সে স্ক্রিনশট কিভাবে নেয়া যায়। বিশেষ ভাবে বুটস্ক্রিনের।

আর একবার লিনাক্স ইনস্টলের পর রুট পার্টিশনে কি অতিরিক্ত স্পেস বাড়ানো যাবে? যেমন 
৫ জিবি আছে আমি আরো ৫০০ এমবি এ্যাড করতে চাই। কিভাবে? জিপার্টেড দিয়ে করা 
যাবে? কোনসমস্যা হবেনাতো?

Probably, its not the disc problem. However to make sure, most easiest way,
try to copy the whole disc from Windows.
Now, it could be a cable problem. Recent drives using Ultra-DMA can push
data through the cable at high enough rates to expose cable issues.
If its not SATA, change the IDE cable, if only using one drive on the cable
use the connectors at the ends of the cable not the middle connector.
If everything is same, probably your DVD drive is faulty.

You don't need to install anything if you install by "mark packages by
task". The point of this is to make the installation a breeze by
satisfying all dependencies.

It's debian world, man! Nothing is complicated. You don't have to
install mysql by your own. Just select mythbuntu as mentioned by 9el.
Or find mythbuntu-desktop in Synaptic. Everything will be installed
automatically.
