Re: [Ubuntu-BD] installing tomcat in ubuntu 10.04

2010-07-08 Thread Nasimul Haque
tomcat6 is available on ubuntu. Try to update your package list. Run
the following:

sudo apt-get update

It will update your list. Then install your desired software.

To search a software on the command line, you can use apt-cache. e.g.,
the following command

apt-cache search tomcat

will give you all software available that are related to or named like "tomcat".

Re: [Ubuntu-BD] installing tomcat in ubuntu 10.04

2010-07-08 Thread Lenin
You can try like this:

sudo apt-get install tomcat
write upto this and press tab to get suggestions. If a package is kept back,
obsoleted it will not be directly available.

Other way is: Try at Software Center/Synaptic Package Manager searching with
the Keywords relevant to your one and get the idea.

2010-07-08 Thread Junayeed Ahnaf
Hello,

I was trying to run Penumbra Overture and getting this error:

[nirj...@localhost PenumbraEp1]$ ./penumbra ulimit -c unlimited
open /dev/[sound/]dsp: No such file or directory
./penumbra: line 9: 17309 Segmentation fault (core dumped) ./penumbra.bin
"$@"
Penumbra exited unexpectedly, please check
/home/Nirjhor/.frictionalgames/Penumbra Overture/Episode1/hpl.log
for any error messages
Also try running

ulimit -c unlimited

And re-running Penumbra and try and recreate the error

then submit the generated core file or stack trace

Re: [Ubuntu-BD] The get together of Ubuntu and Mint users

2010-07-08 Thread Shabab Mustafa
Dear Mates,

As per voting count we have got Thu/Fri : 2/11. Then let's stick with
Friday, 23rd July 2010

Well, I tried to contact several Universities via some channels and wasn't
lucky to get any good news. So, under this circumstance our only hope is,
Presidency University, Gulshan Campus. Though there is a fair chance of
Exploding the hall, but we will have no other words but a big SORRY to say.

Still we are positive. If anyone have any better alternative proposal,
please raise your voice. If you want to talk to me off the list, you can
email me personally at shabab.must...@gmail.com .

We will wait until Monday, 12 July 2010 for the venue confirmation. From
Tuesday, 13 July 2010, we will go for the larger campaign. Mainly Forums and
Blog. Some buddy already asked me about Newspaper tech page coverage, but I
think this time we will not able to afford that because of accommodation
shortage problem. (we can reconsider if we can arrange a bigger place.)

I had a three tire plan for the web campaign. But again as we (still) have a
constraint about accommodation, I think that massive coverage plan will not
be a good idea for this time.

And my heartiest urge to everyone in this list, please come forward and
share your ideas. Sometimes silence becomes painful.

Thank you.

Peace,
