[Ubuntu-BD] Warm Clothes Collection Drive 2010 [Off-Topic]
Dear Members, Greetings to all! It is my great privilege to inform you one of an initiative on “*Warm Clothes Collection Drive 2010*” is being organized by: 1° Initiative, Jagoree, Drishtipat, JAAGO Foundation, Change Bangladesh, The Hunger Project and Ayoti Women and Children Care Organization in Bogra. During the winter season in every year hundreds of people die of bitter cold wave in Bangladesh (especially in the northern region) and thousands suffer from serious respiratory conditions – all for lack of proper clothing and shelter. While we spend days in anticipation to warmly welcome the fleeting days of winter, there happens to be people out there who dread the bitterness approaching them. Without any doubt it is an impossible mission for any single individual to try and resolve the problems that we live in. But we can try to contribute in the limited ways we can. We urge you to take an initiative… bring change in at least a couple of people’s lives and help us make our initiative successful. Be part of it. *And how can you help?* It's simple. All you need to do is get in touch with our local collection points, and donate your clothes or money to the designated persons. Remember, just Tk. 500 will buy 3-4 blankets, which can potentially save 3-4 lives and pay for the hard work of around 25 person-hours for making the blankets. To learn more about the event and know the doping point please visit our facebook event at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=160995187273769 We look forward to welcome you Best and Peace Mustafa Zaman Rajib -- ++ Think B4U Print 1 ream of paper = 6% of a tree and 5.4kg CO2 in the atmosphere 3 sheets of A4 paper = 1 litre of water ++ PS : Sorry for my english which is a little bit rustyhttp://facebook.com/mustafazaman -- Ubuntu Bangladesh | http://ubuntu-bd.org Bangla Linux Forum | http://forum.linux.org.bd https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bd

Dear Paul, It may be the service of GP is becoming worse day by day. However, a little more information that i would like to include. If i want to get connect to internet via GP modem from Dhanmondi, sometime I have to dial 10 or even more times but if i want to connect to internet from other places like Agargaon or Cantonment, I just have to dial once or twice. It may be there are more number of people using GP modem from dhanmondi then other places and GP could not support that number of people. I am sure there are some member who are well known regarding this GP internet, can gave us little more info or maybe it is a bug of new Ubuntu. -- Regards M Zaman [RAJIB] Sent from Dhaka, Bangladesh 2010/2/2 Pronabananda Paul paul.pronabana...@gmail.com Rajib Bhaiya, But in Ubuntu Previous version I haven't feel such type of problem at all. [Ubuntu-BD] Jagoree Election Campaign: Leaflets, Manifesto Analysis, Documentary Lots [Off-topic]
*Friends, Bangladeshis, Voters...* As you know, the National Elections are near. Each and every Bangladeshi has a responsibility and an important role to play in this election, more so now than ever before. This election has come at a huge price, after 2 years of suspended rights and liberties under a state of emergency. We can`t afford another setback. We need to make sure we elect the right people to the parliament so that we can restart our journey towards a functional democracy. Jagoree is a youth platform that is trying to organize this new generation, which constitutes nearly half of our voting population, to bring a qualitative change in the politics as well as the policy-making process of our country. Working towards that aim, Jagoree has organized an awareness campaign regarding this election. Jagoree has made T-shirts, printed leaflets, filmed a documentary, and is conducting comparative analysis of the manifestos of the major political parties - all in an effort to inspire and empower young voters to cast an informed vote in the upcoming election. Please support our cause in the following ways: 1. *Check out our leaflets* (download: Englishhttp://www.jagoree.org/download/color_english.pdf , Bangla http://www.jagoree.org/download/color_bangla.pdf), try to *inform your friends* and other young people in your community, and *organize them*using the sources of information provided. For any support running a campaign in your community, contact us at jagoree...@gmail.com or call us at 01811-999-123. 2. *Read our Manifesto Analysis* - an analytical comparison of the major parties' manifestos.
