I mean partial problem is solved. Now i can listen music but in Skype when i
make a test call it shows "*Problem with audio capture*"

By the way as Mr. Lelin recommendation I use *pulse*

totem, Amorok.. Now they are not working... I mean i cant listen sound..
neither at the time of start i do not listen any welcome music.. Have there

To solve Skype problem i tried the following thing
killall pulseaudio
sudo apt-get remove pulseaudio
sudo apt-get install esound
sudo rm /etc/X11/Xsession.d/70pulseaudio

Dear All,

I am a very new in Linux. I tried to configure Skype as the reason it shows
Problem with Audio Device. To solve this problem I tried to run *"alsamixer"
* in terminal. And I got prove again that a little learning is a dangerous
thing. Now my headphone speaker is working but my microphone is not working.
I was wondering some one will rescue me. Because I am confuse how to google
it. Thanks in advance.

[Ubuntu-BD] Problem Regarding Keyboard

[Mustafa Zaman [RAJIB]]

Dear All,

I am using KDE and GNOME both. First I install Ubuntu then install KDE. It
was perform well however from Last night without any notification I can't
use my Keyboard in KDE session(In one work none of the key is working). My
keyboard is quite old but I can use it in XP, GNOME and before last night in
KDE. The reason I install KDE is I love the visual effect of kubuntu. So I
will be very delight if any of you suggest me what could be reason.


Note:
1. Maybe in my absence mind i might do something which I cant remember.
2. I dont have any other keyboard at my home to test whether it is keyboard
problem or not. But I assume it is not keyboard problem as it is working in
GNOME and XP.

[Ubuntu-BD] Problem Regarding Ubuntu 9.04

Dear All,

I am not very expert in Linux. Just happen to start using Linux. Last Sunday
I install Ubuntu 9.04. After installing for some unknown reason it do not
run smoothly. When I run firefox, office, Rhythmbox at the same time; it
seems sometimes it takes little pause (Specially when I switch from one to
another program). However on 8.10 it did run very smoothly and I also
enjoyed *extra* Visual Effect. I believe my system is healthy.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500  @ 2.20GHz
Motherboard: ASUS  G31 Graphics Integrated Motherboard
RAM: 2GB (800 bus)
Swap: 1.5 GB
HD: Enough Free space.

In this condition should i switch back to 8.10 or i need to install some
drive.

NOTE: Right now i am not using Extra visual effect

previously use Fedora 7 earlier. He tried to run Hardy live but his system

One of my friend has a computer with low configuration hardware. He wished
to use debian. But as of most of the present OS need a minimum hardware
requirement which he does not have. So can any one suggest which version of
Debian should he use or any other OS.

Pentium 4 with 1.7 GH
RAM 256 SD (Bus 133)

Thanks for your feedback. I tell my friend to bring his laptop tomorrow. So
that i can check whether i can ping on archive.ubuntu.com or not and make
sure the DNS is configured properly. He also mention that he can use
internet and can able to download files from internet. He tried to select
the best server but it seems no server is responding. Is it anything with
the proxy server.

As you know, the National Elections are near. Each and every Bangladeshi has
a responsibility and an important role to play in this election, more so now
than ever before. This election has come at a huge price, after 2 years of
suspended rights and liberties under a state of emergency. We can`t afford
another setback. We need to make sure we elect the right people to the
parliament so that we can restart our journey towards a functional
democracy.

Jagoree is a youth platform that is trying to organize this new generation,
which constitutes nearly half of our voting population, to bring a
qualitative change in the politics as well as the policy-making process of
our country. Working towards that aim, Jagoree has organized an awareness
campaign regarding this election.

Jagoree has made T-shirts, printed leaflets, filmed a documentary, and is
conducting comparative analysis of the manifestos of the major political
parties - all in an effort to inspire and empower young voters to cast an
informed vote in the upcoming election.

লেনিন ভাই,
প্রথমেই আমার জ্ঞানের অলপতার জন্ন্য ক্ষমা চাই। সিস্টেম মেনুর পরে নেটওয়ার্ক
মেনু বলে কিছু পাই নাই। System>>System Settings>>Network Settings বলে একটা
বিষয় আছে। কিন্তু সেখানে ip, subnet, dns settings এর কোনো জায়গা নাই। এটা
কি... KDE and GNOME এর difference এর জন্ন্য নাকি আমি বুঝতে পারছিনা। দয়া করে
জানালে উপকার হত।

[Ubuntu-BD] Need Help about Kbuntu

ভাই সকল,
সকলের প্রতি সালাম। এক বন্ধুর ল্যাপটপে kbuntu-র গ্রাফিক্স দেখে মুখধ হয়ে
install করছিলাম kbuntu 8.10[INTREPID IBEX]. কিন্তু এখন LAN configuration[ip,
subnet, default gateway, DNS] করতে পারছিনা। সব কিছু  অন্য রকম মনে হচ্ছে। দয়া
করে বলবেন কি? কি ভাবে LAN Configuration করব। অধীর অপেক্ষায় রইলাম কারন XP
ব্যবহার করতে কষ্ট হচ্ছে।

বিঃ দ্রঃ আমি নতুন LINUX user.

Dear Nasim Vai,
This is a very useful information. Thanks for sharing. The reason i
interested on it because i download some books which is *.DjVu format. The
quality is really good.

Thanks for reply. Yes *.DjVu is a same kind of file type. In fact you can
convert a *.DjVu file in to *.pdf.. But there are obviously
differences.. I just found a link and still reading that topic
