Re: [Ubuntu-BD] UK govt promises to Open Source

2009-02-25 Thread abdullah rakeeb
Since, Bangladesh follow British system blindly in every way possible. NO!
Sorry to say, your assumption is not correct [you know that].

Our country, govt. never follow British rules or regulations but their
left-over ...that is what our leaders like and use (abuse).

If our govt. (and we) could follow [currently] what UK is doing for the
development of their country and people then we might have been called
ourselves as a developed nation.

It would be really enjoyable attending the event. But, I am still in the Garden

I would appreciate if you add another topic to your discussion/presentation,

Guys,
Do not hesitate to enter as a speaker. The sessions would be basically
open to all speakers. So there would be a bunch of guys on the stage
talking on things. So if you mistake/fail on something, other one will
be there to watch your back.

Come on, speak up your names.

Now, the tech part: please advise, how can I read what is in the header of this

Great! I must appreciate all your efforts to help a
'not-so-familiar-with-penguin' type guy :-)

1. To download ... well, there could not be any internet connection at the
first place, and, establishing a connection is the problem.

2. according to Tarin, well, I could not find any such tool (s) in my CD...
sorry, I stand to be corrected if I am wrong.

3. At last, if a new version is available with ALL required tools of the trade
- yes: problem could be solved. Right?

Regarding 'Training', well, Russel (and associates) can arrange a training
workshop/seminar (paid participation basis) in future; it will help everyone.

Thank you all again.

Sorry for the delay. Rafiq bhai has already mentioned, you need to
use a small program named Roaring Penguin
 ( http://www.roaringpenguin.com/products/pppoe). Here's what to do:

 1) Download this file:
 http://www.roaringpenguin.com/files/download/rp-pppoe-3.8.tar.gz
 2) Extract it by typing: tar xzvf rp-pppoe-xxx.tar.gz
 3) Now change directory by typing: cd rp-pppoe-3.8
 4) Now type: sudo ./go

This would compile and install the software for you. Once the
installation is over, you'll be taken to the configuration mode, where
you need to put in the details that your ISP has provided. Once it's
done, type sudo pppoe-start to connect and pppoe-stop to
 disconnect from Internet.

If this doesn't work out, then please open a thread on
http://forum.linux.org.bd and let us know where you're getting stuck.

We don't have a scope to provide hands-on training, but we can help
you out by providing assistance via Forum and IRC (#Ubuntu-BD on

[ Ubuntu-BD ] We should take care about our language (specially in transliteration).

2007-03-13 Thread abdullah rakeeb
Dear list members: May I edit(!) what a member wrote? (as it should have been
typed). Please see the following:

Assalamuwalikum, [Assalamu-Aalaikum]
Kemon asen aponara i hope valo asen insoAllah [insha-allah]
by the way ami UBUNTUB install koresi, but Bangla na. Ami chai Bangla, but it's
not bangla.

The letters/words in bold that is where I have made little change to the
original and it should be correct now. Also, 'valo' could be 'Bhalo'.

I hope we all will take care about our language when transliteration is done
(spelling/way of expressing etc.).

Best regards.
