Re: [Ubuntu-BD] Mailing List Regulations [DOs & DONTs]

2008-12-02 Thread Shahiduzzaman
Hi,

Don't know about this list, but as far as I know in yahoo groups an
automated mail can be sent after a member joined to the group. In our
university group we use that mail to let the new member know about
group regulations. We also use the 'group email footer' option to
provide a link to our regulations which is included in every email
sent to the group as footer. We can use these options instead of
weekly or monthly regulations email (which would no doubt bit
annoying).

2008-12-02 Thread 9el
What do you think, do all the readers already know regulations by default?

A regulation thread also will be written live by moderators, and there will
be replies by older readers as well. When you just send a friendly mail
denoting friendly regulations it wont be spam. And frequency of the mail can
be decided by all, to avoide annoyance.

Do you think so? it will just annoy people... I mean sure spamming or such
things annoy us but sending automated mail to the list will be more annoying
in my humble opinion :)

but decision is upto the most readers. if they think it is wise to send
regulation note every month it can be managed...

[Ubuntu-BD] Mailing List Regulations [DOs & DONTs]

2008-12-02 Thread 9el
I think there should be a monthly or weekly mail from the group denoting the
regulations.
The regulations should not be more than 10 simple lines (not containing more
than 15words).

That way a discipline can be maintained.
