Did you Upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10, too? Actually, I have a fresh install and still had no major problem. It's running good. I guess, you'll have to wait until a better solution is provided by Canonical (Ubuntu's parent company) or you can get a NVIDIA/ATI card, those have better driver support for Linux good luck :) Mahmood Software Engineer ReliSource technologies Ltd. [Ubuntu-BD] Problem Regarding Ubuntu 9.04
Dear All, I am not very expert in Linux. Just happen to start using Linux. Last Sunday I install Ubuntu 9.04. After installing for some unknown reason it do not run smoothly. When I run firefox, office, Rhythmbox at the same time; it seems sometimes it takes little pause (Specially when I switch from one to another program). However on 8.10 it did run very smoothly and I also enjoyed *extra* Visual Effect. I believe my system is healthy. Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz Motherboard: ASUS G31 Graphics Integrated Motherboard RAM: 2GB (800 bus) Swap: 1.5 GB HD: Enough Free space. In this condition should i switch back to 8.10 or i need to install some drive. Thank you in advance. NOTE: Right now i am not using Extra visual effect -- Regards, MZaman [RAJIB] http://MustafaZaman.com/ -- Ubuntu Bangladesh | http://ubuntu.linux.org.bd ubuntu-bd@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bd

Re: [ Ubuntu-BD ] Problem with Ubuntu 8.04.1!
Can you provide a little bit more information? 1. Is your connection via LAN/DHCP or PPPoP/Serial Modem or Wireless? 2. If you use your LAN card with one of the methods above, what brand are you using? Type in lspci -nn | grep Ethernet on a command prompt in ubuntu. Also, do a ifconfig and see if your ethernet shows up or not (should appear as something like eth0). If you have a Realtek lan card, you are most likely affected by the WoL problem since youre also booting Windows. The newer drivers for Realtek cards disable the LAN card internally when shutting down windows. And it will only turn it back on when you start windows again. Even though linux will load the driver, the ethernet card will stay disabled. Easiest way to find if youre affected by this is: completely power down your computer and then power back on and boot linux (not windows). If it works now, then you can fix this once and for all by going to device manager on windows and enable wake on lan after shutdown in your Network card's properties. Let us know if it still doesn't work and some extra info (e.g. the suggestions above) would be helpful for us to figure out the problem. Hope this helps. :) Regards, Tareq Ahmed Siraj - Original Message From: Adhor Sen [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Ubuntu Bangladesh ubuntu-bd@lists.ubuntu.com Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2008 2:05:47 AM Subject: Re: [ Ubuntu-BD ] Problem with Ubuntu 8.04.1! i use broadband 128kbps smile.com.bd On Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 5:12 AM, Raihan Hasnain Rahman [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: What type of internet connection do you use?
