[Bug 352260] [NEW] Shouldn't hardcode mmcblk0
Public bug reported: Hi flash-kernel works on most platforms by looking at a static place with all the MTD partitions: /proc/mtd; on imx51 it writes to SD card instead of MTD, and that currently means hardcoding /dev/mmcblk0 which is a bit crude. flash-kernel should read a .conf to set this device; this would avoid hardcoding in the script. This file should be written by the installer via the udeb logic. [Bug 123460] Re: Rhythmbox:Error while saving song information:Internal GStreamer problem
I have found it! Look at the following lines from rb-metadata-dbus- service.c: #define ATTENTION_SPAN 30 ... electromagnetic_shotgun (gpointer data) { ServiceData *c = (ServiceData *)data; GTime now = time(NULL); int idle = now - c-last_active; /* quit if we haven't done anything for a while */ if (idle ATTENTION_SPAN) { rb_debug (shutting down (%ds idle), idle); g_main_loop_quit (c-loop); } return TRUE; } ... if (!svc.external) g_timeout_add_seconds (ATTENTION_SPAN / 2, (GSourceFunc) electromagnetic_shotgun, svc); No wonder all lengthy operations are cut off after 15 seconds! Another observation: It seems that metadata-change operations are quicker and thus less error-prone when only a small collection is loaded. This suggests that the metadata-change background operation is hindered by Rhythmbox rescanning the collection while the operation is in progress. -- Rhythmbox:Error while saving song information:Internal GStreamer problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123460 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 352258] Re: Pidgin crashes often
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: pidgin (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- Pidgin crashes often https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/352258 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 352269] [NEW] gnome-keyring-daemon stalls after upgrading to jaunty beta
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-keyring After upgrading to jaunty gnome-keyring-daemon wound not run. Trying to save any passwords (e.g. mail-notification) it would say it could not save any. When I followed the instructions in another forum saying one should remove ~/.gnome2/keyrings folder and restart, it firstly went well letting gnome-keyring-daemon come up again and save passwords. After another update (uptodate version from ubuntu repositories) it, however, started stalling again after I logged into my account. Now, even the solution mentioned above does not work anymore. Starting gnome-keyring-daemon from console shows the following error message: ** Message: couldn't set environment variable in session: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files GNOME_KEYRING_SOCKET=/tmp/keyring-2cOEK8/socket SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/tmp/keyring-2cOEK8/socket.ssh GNOME_KEYRING_PID=5785 I started this bug report using apport ('ubuntu-bug gnome-keyring'). [Bug 333783] Re: Inkscape doesn't export transparent elements correctly to eps or pdf
This is still a problem in the Kubuntu Jaunty beta even on i386. Note this used to work in one of the earlier releases (Hardy? it was a version that _didn't_ use Cairo for PDF export, no version using Cairo has worked properly), and I routinely SSH my files to a machine running an older Kubuntu release when I generate PDFs in inkscape. EPS doesn't support transparency, so you don't expect it to work there. But PDF 1.4 does, and so this should work. Furthermore, the expected failure mode would be to make the object opaque, but instead the object is simply missing from the PDF. Another example (rendered from Jaunty) is attached, including the SVG file. For me this is easily the #1 problem with Inkscape in Kubuntu. From some googling around I did a while ago, it seems to work properly for users of other distributions, however. ** Attachment added: inkscape_transparency_bug.svg http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24565762/inkscape_transparency_bug.svg -- Inkscape doesn't export transparent elements correctly to eps or pdf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/333783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 345344] Re: [jaunty] The Shut Down, Restart and Log Out buttons do not appear translatable
Is there a chance for removing the window decorators (title bar, etc.) from the Logout-Restart-Shutdown dialog, as well as converting it into a modal window? [Bug 352288] [NEW] New logout-restart-shutdown dialogs aren't modal windows
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: fast-user-switch-applet The new logout-restart-shutdown dialogs in Jaunty aren't modal windows. IMHO, this is a lack of consistent, because all the previous dialogs from previous Ubuntu releases were modal dialogs. Another lack of consistence is about the window decorators. The actual dialogs has decorators (title bar, etc.) unlike the dialogs in the previous Ubuntu releases. I propose to convert the dialogs into modal ones and remove the window decorators. ** Affects: fast-user-switch-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- New logout-restart-shutdown dialogs aren't modal windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/352288 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
