[Bug 567480]
@marinus: Until this patch is accepted and rolled into an automatic nightly build, you have to compile a custom version of Lightning that includes this patch. This could be an involved process if you have not done it before; you need to download the latest Thunderbird 3.1/Lightning 1.0 (or comm-1.9.2) source code from the Mercurial version control system; apply the patch from this bug report to the source code; configure the build system for Lightning; run the build; and finally install the .xpi file that is created. [Bug 741825] Re: ATI controllers [1002:4383] and [1002:4383] (rev 40): Intermittent record and jack sense failure
** Description changed: Sometimes, but not always, when starting a recording stream through this HDA controller, the recording stream is not successfully started. Instead, the controller generates a large amount of interrupts (~40 000 interrupts per second). After this has happened, jack sense (i e unsolicited events from the codec) stops working until the next system reboot. === Similar bugs === Here are some possible duplicates: Bug #743266 (HP Pavilion dv7) Bug #764062 (Lenovo x120e) Bug #775245 (Lenovo x100e) Bug #770555 (Asus 1215T) Bug #755847 (HP Pavilion DV6-1210SA) Bug #774654 Dell Inspiron 1546 Bug #778716 ASRock 890GM Pro3 Bug #780419 Sapphire Tech PCM-AM3RS790G Bug #780532 Toshiba Satellite L645D Bug #781240 ASUS 1215T Bug #775788 Acer Aspire One 522 + Bug #787281 MSI 880GM-P51 (MS-7623) These controllers are affected: ATI [1002:4383] and ATI [1002:4383] (rev 40) === Checking for duplicate === A bug is a duplicate of this if at some point all of the following conditions are fulfilled: 1) The PCI controller ID (as checked with lspci -vvnn) is ATI [1002:4383] and ATI [1002:4383] (rev 40) 2) Jack sense is not working - i e, you still have sound from either internal speakers or headphones, but it remains the way it was when the system was last rebooted and does not change on plug/unplug. 3) Recording is not working - there is no recording stream 4) When you're trying to record, you're instead seeing massive interrupts ( 10.000 per second) for hda_intel, i e, the output of cat /proc/interrupts | grep hda_intel is increasing rapidly while unsuccessfully recording. === Investigation === By inserting some printk's into the kernel code I've traced down the interrupt problem to the recording stream returning a FIFO error (SD0STS returns 0x28). The interrupt service routine acknowledges this error but does not do anything to counteract the root cause to the problem, so it appears again and again. Restarting the stream does not seem to help. I have seen this bug on 1) 2.6.35 2) 2.6.38-rc8 mainline kernel build 3) 2.6.35 + daily snapshot of ALSA HDA modules I have seen it both with and without fglrx. Yes, this is known by the pulseaudio upstream developers. Work needs to be done on making the raop support code run more cleanly and less crasy/flaky. [Bug 767095] Re: 1 pixel icons in notification-area-applet when compiz is the windows manager
Hi all, I've been watching this bug on two computers (both are constantly updated natties), and I have noticed that Skype icons appears after each second restart. So at each odd restart it's invisible, but at each even restart it's visible. I have seen checked, and it's not dependent on the login (I can log out and in, but Skype will be still in the current state), but the restart. I haven't applied any other workaround. I don't know whether this helps. And to join tkoun... I have switched two machines to Natty that I'm rarely using. The one that is the most used is still on Maverick, and I won't upgrade it until this bug is fixed. If it won't be fixed (maybe due to it's Invalidity or Low priority) then I may consider switching to Debian or other distro. I have seen many new Ubuntu versions at the beginning (even in alpha/beta), but this one with this bug seems to be the worse (and I'm sorry, if I need to contact my colleagues all day long by Skype, and I'm effectively unable to do that, then how should I consider this bug?). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/767095 Title: 1 pixel icons in notification-area-applet when compiz is the windows manager -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 786830] Re: Touchpad not detected on Gigabyte T1125N
** Description changed: - Hello, + Hello, + + is there anybody who may help with an issue? Recently I bought a Gigabyte T1125N subnote and tried to install several versions of Ubuntu (10.04, 10.10 and finally 11.04). But with none of these attempts I had success in getting the touchpad to work. Has anybody experienced similar problems with such a notebook? Many thanks for supporting me. - is there anybody who may help with an issue?
