[Bug 792798] [NEW] software center is not showing apps popularity

2011-06-04 Thread Antonio Zugaldia
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: software-center

When I open the software center and I click, for example, in accesories,
I see a list of 336 items.

I don't know the default sorting option, and I cannot choose to sort by
popularity - which Ubuntu collects (http://popcon.ubuntu.com/). This
makes the software center unusable, am I really supposed to go through
hundreds of item to check what apps are available?

In previous versions this was possible but now the option is either
missing or hidden. Thanks.

[Bug 288385] Re: Kernel stops booting on HP EliteBook 8530w

2008-12-02 Thread Antonio Zugaldia
As someone mentioned before that latest SuSE seems to work here, I'd
like to add that Fedora 10 is also booting in this machine apparently
with no issues.

[Bug 288385] Re: Kernel stops booting on HP EliteBook 8530w

2008-12-01 Thread Antonio Zugaldia
I'm afraid the same problem affects HP EliteBook 8530p. The system
randomly freezes even after adding acpi=off to the boot command line and
disabling Fan always ON on AC Power.

This is stopping Ubuntu to work in this new HP line.

Re: [Ubuntu-be] reminder: language use

 Dear all,

 Just a quick reminder...

Please use English wherever possible when posting to this list. Even
if the issue at stake is really really specific to the Dutch speaking
population, please try to give at least a summary of your message in
English. If you're not able to do that yourself, please ask someone to
 do this for you.

This requires some extra effort. The reward is manyfold:
 * You'll hopefully think twice before making the extra effort, so less blah.
 * More people within Belgium able to at least somewhat understand what
you want to say. Many Dutch, French, German, Italian, Arab, Turkish,
Kurdish,... speaking people have at least basic command of
 Shakespeare's language.

I'd also add Spanish. I've just joined the list after visiting your
stand during FOSDEM yesterday. I'm now living in Brussels, and I'm glad
of being in contact with you the ubuntu-be crew. Many thanks for your
English effort, it's very much appreciated!

Cheers,

A.
