[Bug 1458316] [NEW] Please migrate pybik 2.0-1 to from wily proposed to release pocket

2015-05-24 Thread B. Clausius
Public bug reported:

For Pybik 2.0-1 autopkgtest fails, but
 * Pybik 2.0-1 runs fine under wily, vivid and unstable, so its not a bug in
pybik but in the debian packaging
 * the next version of Pybik will have autopkgtest removed (I am the upstream
author and maintainer of debian packaging), so i don't think it is worth fixing
it.

So please ignore the autopkgtest failure and let Pybik migrate to the
release pocket.

[Bug 1301312] Re: Gedit window resized on save

2014-05-02 Thread B Clausius
I can confirm this under Unity. I think the reason is the status bar.
Try:
 * Deactivate Bottom- and Sidepanel
 * Activate the Statusbar
Now you should be able to reproduce it. When saving you see for a short period
a message in the left of the Statusbar that may affect the minimal size of the
Statusbar and with it the window.
 * Deactivate the Statusbar
Now the resizing should not happen.
Plugins that modify the statusbar or the menubar and so affect the minimal
window size should be deactivated to reproduce this.

[Bug 1203534] Re: update-manager crashes when trying to upgrade to 13.10

2013-10-19 Thread B Clausius
I am also using the NVIDIA binary driver. I did the upgrade in a
terminal with do-release-upgrade that worked.

The bug is not in update-manager but in the Gtk3 frontend of the command
do-release-upgrade from the source package ubuntu-release-upgrader
(update-manager internally invokes do-release-upgrade).

Try this command:
/usr/bin/pkexec /usr/bin/do-release-upgrade --frontend=DistUpgradeViewGtk3
It fails as described above.

[Bug 1189664] Re: Preferences menu causes segmentation fault with pyside installed

2013-07-13 Thread B Clausius
** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+ * Because it is not possible to open the preferences menu, some functionality
is not available to the user.
+ * The crash prevents that the state of the game is saved (data loss)
+ * A workaround exists (install python-qt4-gl and remove
python-pyside.qtopengl), but that is not obvious to the user.
+ The bug is solved by a patch that removes the ability to run pybik with
pyside and require pyqt4, the alternative dependencies on the python-pyside.*
packages are removed.
+
+ [Test Case]
+ 1) Install package python-pyside.qtopengl
+ 2) Run pybik
+ 3) Activate menu item Edit - Preferences
+ 4) If the bug is solved, the Preferences dialog is opened,
+ else the program ends by a segmentation fault
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ Minimal, only unnecessary functionality (run pybik with pyside) is removed in
a leaf package.
+ Patch was made by the upstream author.
+
+ [Additional information]
+ Only the version in Raring is affected
+
+ [Original description]

[Bug 1200419] [NEW] Please provide package python3-icu

2013-07-11 Thread B Clausius
Public bug reported:

Pybik 1.1 in saucy recommends python3-icu.

In Ubuntu the package name is python3-pyicu. Debian decided to name the
package python3-icu and Ubuntu should do the same (and probably provide
python3-pyicu as a transitional package).

This could be solved with a merge from Debian.

Please open a terminal and run this command:

Then click a few times on different points on the cube, close Pybik and
attach the file pybik-debug.log to this bug report.

Now run this command:

pybik --debug=draw,pick

Move the mouse cursor somewhere over the front right corner, take a
screenshot of the Pybik window and attach it to this bug report.

[Bug 1189664] Re: segmentation fault (core dumped)

2013-06-11 Thread B Clausius
Thank you for the bug report,

this seems to me a problem in pyside.
As a workaround you can do:
 * install the package python-qt4-gl
 * remove the package python-pyside.qtopengl (it is unlikely that some other
software on your computer is using it)

** Changed in: pybik (Ubuntu)

[Bug 987294] Re: [regression] Dash - Arrow keys not working in the search bar on second use

2012-04-27 Thread B Clausius
The bug is only partially solved. It depends on the position of the
mouse cursor.

1. press super key to open the dash
2. type: gedit
3. position the mouse oven an icon
4. press super key to close the dash
5. press super key to open the dash
6. press left or right key - the cursor does not move

If the mouse is not over an icon in the dash it works as expected

[Bug 980184] Re: dash doesn't ever respond to enter when the previous search is recalled

2012-04-27 Thread B Clausius
The bug is only partially solved. It depends on the position of the mouse.
(Compare to comment 3 in bug 987294)

1. press super key to open the dash
2. type: gedit
3. press super key to close the dash
4. press super key to open the dash
5a. case: the mouse is not over an icon in the dash - press enter: gedit opens
as expected
5b. case: the mouse is over an icon in the dash - press enter: noting happens

When the dash is opened with the super key the keyboard focus should in
the edit area. In 5b that is not the case. You can verify this by
pressing left or right key and then enter. - the item at the left or
right of the mouse is opened and not the item in the edit area.

[Bug 986956] Re: document that lxc-execute with separate rootfs does not work with commands

2012-04-26 Thread B Clausius
The last comments make me think that lxc-execute works with application
containers. Does it work?

The simplest usage would be (without a created container test):
$ sudo lxc-execute -n test /bin/bash
But due to bug 981955 this does not work. With the workaround there:
$ sudo lxc-execute -n test /bin/bash -s lxc.rootfs=/ -s
lxc.aa_profile=unconfined
Now Daniel suggests not to specify lxc.rootfs?

What config makes the bash work with lxc-execute?
Or are interactive commands not intended to work with lxc-execute? The man-page
says it should.

[Bug 987770] [NEW] lxc-start: wrong terminal size

2012-04-24 Thread B Clausius
Public bug reported:

1. Create a Precise container with the Ubuntu template:
sudo lxc-create -n precise -t ubuntu -- -r precise
2. Start the container with lxc-start:
sudo lxc-start -n precise

The following effects can be observed:
a) Independent of the actual size:
ubuntu@precise:~$ echo $COLUMNS $LINES
80 24
b) Commands like less behave strange if not 80x24.
c) If you type a command that is longer than 80 chars, the cursor jumps to the
first column on the same line overwriting the prompt and the command; the ouput
of such commands is correct.

If you connect to the container with
sudo lxc-console -n precise
the effects a-c cannot be observed and work as expected.

Expected: containers started with lxc-create should behave like containers
connected to with lxc-console
Workaround:
sudo lxc-start -n precise -d
sudo lxc-console -n precise

[Bug 981955] Re: lxc-execute does not seem to work in precise

2012-04-20 Thread B Clausius
Sorry for the incomplete info

I am using a container without rootfs.
Just type for a not existing container test:
$ sudo lxc-execute -n test /bin/echo hi
lxc-execute: Invalid argument - failed to get real path for '(null)'
lxc-execute: failed to pin the container's rootfs
lxc-execute: failed to spawn 'test'
lxc-execute: No such file or directory - failed to remove cgroup
'/sys/fs/cgroup//lxc/test'

or use a container ceated with:
$ sudo lxc-create -n test
No config file specified, using the default config
'test' created

I used different configs and it seams it is caused by the missing
rootfs.

Such simple things worked in the past at least under Natty, but not in
precise.

[Bug 584147] Re: Bullet lists in package descriptions are not displayed correctly for PPA packages

2012-02-26 Thread B Clausius
The bug is not in in Software Center, the Package Description provided
by Launchpad are wrong.

The Description in the package itself is correct (bullets are indented by an
extra space):
wget -O-
http://ppa.launchpad.net/stellarium/stellarium-testing/ubuntu/pool/main/s/stellarium/stellarium_0.10.6~bzr4813-0ubuntu1ppa1~maverick1_amd64.deb
 /tmp/foo.deb; dpkg -I /tmp/foo.deb

The Description from Launchpad is wrong (bullets are indented by an extra
space):
wget -O-
http://ppa.launchpad.net/stellarium/stellarium-testing/ubuntu/dists/maverick/main/binary-i386/Packages

A more recent example:
OK:
wget -O /tmp/foo.deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/gedit-bc-dev-plugins/releases/ubuntu/pool/main/g/gedit-projects/gedit-projects_1.0_all.deb;
 dpkg -I /tmp/foo.deb
Wrong:
wget -O-
http://ppa.launchpad.net/gedit-bc-dev-plugins/releases/ubuntu/dists/oneiric/main/binary-amd64/Packages

Some software on Launchpad incorrectly strips spaces before bullet list.
That confuses software that formats descriptions like Software Center
and Aptitude. Synaptic is not affected because it does not format the
description but display it as plain text.

[Bug 224895] Re: Mic Doesnt WOrk

2008-04-30 Thread B Clausius
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu
if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see

[Bug 224882] Re: Evince chooses default paper size the wrong way

2008-04-30 Thread B Clausius
Thank you for your suggestion. However, the changes you are requesting
aren't really a bug and require more discussion, which should be done on
an appropriate mailing list or forum.
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/mailinglists might be a good
start for determining which mailing list to use.
