Looks like the overall region is getting shown before it adjusts to paint the nice overlay boarder. Interesting that only the tooltip reproduces this issue. Public bug reported: Right now with a fullscreen window if you open the dash or hud the focus is taken off the fullscreen window then given to the dash/hud. The problem with this is the dash/hud get rendered under the fullscreen window so you cant actually see the dash/hud. Also to note, there is new behavior for show desktop. As soon as a new window is mapped, show desktop toggles off. So this can no longer be a problem, unless the tests are waiting for it to be off when no windows are mapped (but that wont be an issue anyway..as it toggles fine). As when ever a new window is mapped, show desktop is false. If this is proved to still be a problem, we will need to decide what should happen as there is new behavior now for show desktop. Manually testing this now, and show desktop toggles fine for me. Must have been fixed with the new changes that went into showdesktop. So ill link that branch as a fix for this. Im not able to run test_queryshowdesktop.py, but I've a print statement in ::ShowDesktop(), and it is toggling just fine on an empty desktop. If you have a list of any failing tests that you still see attributed to this, let me know! Public bug reported: Right now in Nux XIM support is very limited. It basically just commit text, with the default style. It really needs to support preedit highlighting, as well as at lease position the preedit window along the X window boundary. So currently if you are using XIM (such as using fcitx in nux) preedit does not show up in the TextEntry. It only appears once you have committed the text. [Bug 1258579] [NEW] New threads API index different then context after an eglMakeCurrent.
Public bug reported: Say you have 2 threads A/B. Thread A: Starts running application, does an eglBindAPI(OPENGL), so the threads API index is 2 eglMakeCurrent(context) --- The contexts API is 2 renders stuff start to swtich over to thread B eglMakeCurrent(EGL_NO_CONTEXT, EGL_NO_SURFACE) ... etc. Thread B: New thread created. Defaults the API index to OPENGL_ES. So the threads API index is 0. eglcurrent.c:149: t-CurrentAPIIndex = _eglConvertApiToIndex(EGL_OPENGL_ES_API); eglMakeCurrent(context) --- The contexts API index is 2 --The Problem-- When it gets down to _eglBindContextToThread, it uses the contexts API index. So it binds the context to index 2, and returns TRUE. On the next eglSwapBuffers, it does an _eglGetCurrentContext(), which uses the threads API index, which is 0. This returns an EGL_NO_CONTEXT (0x0), causing EGL_BAD_SURFACE, causing lots of other fun problems after. @ccslayer This is what im thinking...as the launcher use to steal the X focus from the Dash/Hud... so if its missing possibly something else is stealing X focus. Though since XIM support landed the Dash/Hud should be the ones with X focus. Problem was when the launcher was hidden, an async message saying the dash opened was coming through. The dash would enable input, setting X focus, and XIC focus. When the async message got to the launcher, it being hidden, then has to reveal it self and when it does that it needs to enable its input window so it accepts drag and drop from the dash and events work on it. The solution now, make sure we sync xevent focus and XIC focus. That is, if a window is shown in nux it would change the XIC, but xevents are still being sent to the dashes window (well really generated for), which the XIC and the xevent would become out of sync. This means XFilterEvent would just return instead of passing the event to the current IM (the problem!).
